Leanne The fall festival is more of an arts and crafts fair, but it was mostly outside (just a few indoor buildings with booths set up.) It had lots of what I call fair food, so funnel cakes, fried corndogs, lemonade, good food like that.

And oh my gosh, that dessert you posted looks DELICIOUS

Kim We did have a good day together. Sis and I haven't really gotten to do a lot of fun things together lately, nor have we been able to do much with our aunt either. It was nice to get out and spend the day together.

Theresa Sounds like fun weekend I've never been to a food festival. That might be dangerous for me I might buy too much food.

Mal It's been a while I am sorry you've been having a hard time lately. It's so hard to lose a loved one, especially your father :sad: Believe me, I know. Dad's been gone since May and it's hard.

Claire I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. Your mom may have been closer to her when she was younger, like maybe when her brother first married your aunt. Or maybe it's hard on her, because they are probably close to the same age. Sometimes that hits us pretty hard, learning of someone our age who has died -- makes us think about our mortality.

Carol: It's my Dad's brother who's lost his wife, which was why I was a bit surprised that my Mum was so upset, but as you say when you start losing people the same age, it can make you react.

I haven't seen either of them for over 15 years, so it's not so affecting for me.

Work feels exhausting on Monday. This certain location is inner city with lots of refugee populations and the students here don't know how to behave or act or listen much. So noisy... fortunately I spend most of my time in the back room working on book processing wearing earplugs, rather than exchanges so it wasn't too bad. But I'm so tired out. I'm flaking out after work, right now I'm on a break.

I can't even think to respond to anything on here, just checking in.

I have been gone a lot and fallen asleep lots while trying tp post then finding 6-8 hours have gone by so I delete the post.

Recovery is both busy and very tiring, Karen! I totally get what you're doing! Hope the knee is healing. I'm so over stitches and healing skin by now. Hope your family is helping you out really good!

I was watching the Young Sheldon preview, but other than that, just relaxing tonight.

I'm watching potato chips that are Lays and flavoured as "Szechuan" I don't even know what that food is. But it tastes a little spicy so it's all good.

I'm glad you coped with your day at work, Leanne. At least you don't need to deal with the unruly kids.

Szechuan is a type of Chinese food that is oily, spicy and peppery. I quite like it.
