| Blood Blisters Well, for starters they hurt like a mother. I just gave myself one. I was assembling my bed frame in a hurry so I could get my mattress out of the den area of the house I just moved in to a couple of weeks ago (and it's taken me this long because my room needed to be painted and I've been working and going to school or doing something school related nonstop for the past three weeks I've been here and still am). I bought this particular frame from Pier 1 Imports because it had slides on the bottom of it that would be good for placing it on bed lifts so I could put storage boxes underneath it. So I'm hammering these damned plastic plug things into the part where I'd screw in the slides and BAM. I get my freaking thumb right in the middle of the hammer and the plastic plug. First response is OOOOOOOOW. Then I see the blood blister forming. Now it's really time for ow and the crying. Because in the first few minutes while the blood is still gushing into that pocket of skin it hurts so damn bad. I know you're not supposed to pop them and I am not even going to try it right now because it hurts just as much to pop it as to let it go down on it's own...but I gotta do something because I've gotta be at work in about 40 minutes (or at least leave for work in 40 minutes) and I deliver and make Pizzas. Having injuries on my goddamn hands is not ideal for this situation  Uh, anyways, in short: OUCHIE! __________________ If looks could really kill, then my profession would be staring / know we do this cause we care and not for the thrill .... | They hurt so bad, Pika. Like, I've had a few and it's been like...7 years since I had one last at the very least. But it happens when you bleed unerneath the skin, it does break the surface and it forms a blister. And then the blood gets all congealed and hard under the skin. Ah, ****...Where's a needle when you need one? | I've never really heard of the term "blood blister", but I slammed the car door on my left thumb a couple months back. It turned all purple and black and I didn't want to wait for it to grow out (because it looked so bad) so I ended up peeling off a huge layer of the nail, so there was basically this thin layer of "nail" on my finger. Since then, the nail has grown out, but it's just a bit sensitive. I don't think what happened to me is the same thing, but I advise that you don't pop the thing. It sounds like it'll hurt a lot more if you do.  Feel better! __________________ | |||
