Answering Machines
When you call someone and it goes to voice mail, do you leave a message or call again later hoping the person would be there next time? I hate talking to a machine....I dunno, just odd for me. I would only leave a message if it's necessary.

I'm the same way Cin. I'll try calling several times before leaving a message - and then only if absolutely necessary and after planning out what to say. Messages are always awkward

On a cell phone I sometimes leave a message.. depends but I figure they can see I called. On home phones and for work, I always leave a message.

If you aren't going to leave a message just hang up before the voice mail picks up. My roomate get's calls all the time but more than half of the time they hung up and I'm forced to listen to the damn dial tone

I leave a message if it's important but yeah if i'm not I hang up before voicemail picks up... nothing more annoying then messages of nothing

I definitely like talking to people more than I like leaving messages. If I can avoid leaving messages, I do.

I leave a message if it's something important the person really needs to know and/or if they have to call me back. If I'm only calling for no other reason than a chitchat, then I don't
