Old Games You Played As A Kid...

This is sort of random, but I was suddenly inspired.

I just saw this icon on someone's LJ: and I immediately remembered the old "Ski" game I had on my computer as a kid Does anyone remember that?

Anyway, it made me remember all the fun computer games when I was younger. Like we had this really old game, Commander Keen, which was so much pretty ghetto, but at the time it was awesome.

Of course there's more than computer games, like I remember my sisters and I had Pretty Pretty Princess and some dating game with a deck of cards with guy's pictures on them Plus we had every Barbie ever created.

Do you remember the stuff you had as a kid?

I had a stuffed kitty cat that my mother made for me out of an old blanket; I loved that lots.

LOL I remember that ski game. I was really into Polly Pockets when I was a kid. I know they're not a game but still.

I mostly played Barbies when I was little... Lol, I used to get the picnic blanket and go outside with my HUGE box full of barbies and barbie things and have them go to the beach, or have a wedding or whatever I felt like doing ^-^ Gawd, I had everything- little Couches, tvs, computers... I had teeny-tiny bottles of Coke and Fanta for them... I had two horses and all the stuff for them... Oh, actually, I have all that stuff, not had- mum won't let me get rid of them LOL, so my cousin plays with them when she comes over, and she does the same stuff as I did- setting up all the little furniture everywhere, lol.

"Baby Birds"... that was a game me and my friend Marriane made up, and we played it from Year one to Year three, lol. In Baby Birds, you just have to... pretend to be baby birds, lol. Baby Birds soon became Baby Horses, Baby Rabbits, Baby Dogs etc... Ack, we must have looked like such idiots sitting in the middle of the playground tweeting :p

On the computer, I had a game... I can't, for the life of me, remember what it was called, but it was Cats or something like that... Alley Cats, or something like that... You play a stray cat and do stuff ^-^ I can't remember what stuff you did, but I know I loved it!

Another computer game I liked was... Oh, now that one I can't even begin to remember the name of :-p Well, you know that game on Homestarrunner.com, the peasent one... well it was a lot like that, only set in the 90's... You could go to the jukebox and you'd have to type something in, and you could play a song... Or you'd go up to someone and type "Talk to ___" and they'd talk to you, I thought it was way fun!

Catch and Kiss... does anyone remember that? Sorta like Tips, but if you catch the person you have to kiss them... lol, it was always girls against boys, and I used to pretend to be too slow, and pretend that I couldn't catch them so I wouldn't have to kiss them.

Duck-Duck-Goose, oh I loved that!!! Sometimes when I started out with 2 or 3 of my friends, by the end of lunch it would have extended to like 20 or 30 people, that was so great ^-^ I felt popular! lol

I had lots of other games, but if I type anymore I think my arm will fall off :-p

That game, Rattler Race, and Chip's Challege I was totally addicted to! And I missed them so much that I did an internet search and found them again

I definately end up playing them when I should be doing homework.

My grandmother gave my sister and I an old copy of the game LIFE, one from the 50s or something, so the prices were ridiculous, but we loved that game. And Pretty, Pretty Princess. We got really competetive with that game. And liked to make the boys play.

Ah, good times.

Haha, hey Amber, do you remember the game Girl Talk? I used to play that at Girl Scout sleep overs when I was in elementary. Also played a lot of Twister.

I played all the old Nintendo games, back when Nintendo was brand new.

My fav computer games were Sleuth, a sort of Clue/detective type game and also Concentration during middle school computer class. I keep looking for Sleuth online but I can't find it. I loved that game.

Also loved Uno (still love it).

There's more comp games that I would play at my cousin Brian's during the 80's but I can't remember them now.

And I had Barbies of course, My Little Ponies, P.J. Sparkles, Little Miss Makeup...

Me too!

The memories.. it's so strange. Don't you look back on it and it seems like it happened to a totally different person? I'm only 24 but those times were years and years ago.

My brothers and I played the game Operation for hours, we enjoyed that game. However, we must have drove my dad crazy because we would lose a lot of the pieces, so we told him to keep buying us another one. After the third time, my dad said, "No more Operation".

We also played "Mouse Trap" too.

I also loved playing Atari games - especially the games "Centipede" and "Moon Patrol" those were the two games I really enjoying playing.

What about Sega Genesis - I loved and still love "Sonic The Hedgehog". I would play that game and its sequal for hours.

I had a few Polly Pockets, because I liked little things. I had a few Barbies but didn't play with them. I had a sock monkey and a crab apple tree that I loved to climb in for 3 years until i found out it had bugs and spiders all over it

The best game in the whole wide world was and still is Chutes & Latters. There are so many different ways you can play that. It's awesome.

And PollyPocket, so much fun! Not to mention Barbies and My Little Pony. Heh, I also played "Cabbagge Padge Kids" (sp?), "Monopoly", "Life", etc. Uh uh uh my favorite stuff LEGO!! Ah and I used Playdo for a while and some of that FisherPrice stuff I think.

Well I'm only 14 .....so I guess I'm still pretty much still a kid, but when I was a little-r kid I was very much into Barbies. If my parents were to have kept track of how much money they spent on Barbie stuff 4 me, it would litterally be in the hundreds...now I dont even own one barbie. We like donated it all to the salvation army or somthing like 6 years ago...
