Veggies of course. And get lots of water.

I eat a lot of whole-grain bread, which is good.

If you are thinking of meat, I'd stick to turkey or fish; Try to avoid a lot of red meat.

I don't know about your grocery store, but ours has a specific Health Food aisle where you can find low-fat or low-cal versions of regular food, like pastas and cereals and drinks and things like that

Skimmed milk is a good choice. If you're not used to it, it can taste a bit weird at first, but after a week or so it should be OK. I like to add a very small pinch of powered cinnamon, its zests it up a bit

A good rule of thumb is that food is healthy if it's fresh.

Healthiest: fresh fruit and veg.
Next best: frozen.
Avoid: canned or boxed unless you're dealing with a whole grain cereal.

Also, the less ingredients something has, the better it is for you.

I'd suggest avoiding all meat but I'm a vegetarian.

Frusli bars are always good, especially if you ever have to leave the house without having breakfast.
This is my favourite brand:

Healthy and yummy

Those things are actually not a very healthy choice because they aren't a "whole" food since they are so overprocessed.

Sounds like you made some very good choices.

One note about yoghurt is that if it's flavored yoghurt, you should make sure that it doesn't contain an artificial sweetener (like aspartame) or gelatin (which is a meat product).

after i got diagnosed with hyopglycemia last year i got sent to a nutritionist. here's the gist of what i was told:

avoid sugar.
canned soup can be good of it's low in sodium.
cheese is under-rated. it makes a good snack b/c it fills you up quickly and has a lot of protien. soy nuts (eps. roasted and salted) are awesome! and i'm really picky but i love 'em.
can't say enough about fresh fruits and veggies.
avoid all kinds of white bread- loaves, beagles, ect.- always go whole grain when you can.
don't even go near the snack foods like chips or soda.

It bugs me that healthy food is more expensive than junk food. I mean you can get a pound of grapes for 5 dollars or you can buy 12 doughnuts for 15 cents.

That is one of the more annoying parts about eating healthy food...but think of the money you save on doctor bills in the long run if you choose the grapes instead of the doughnuts. And, if the grapes are really terribly pricey, there is less expensive fruit.

Nature Valley Granola bars are very good for you. Organic spinach is great for a salad. Chicken, turkey and fish are great. Yogurt and fresh fruit or veggies are a great snack. Um, what else? I probably named things already listed . Just drink alot of water and fresh stuff and you're good to go

Actually they're loaded with sugar. I was looking at my packet the other day and it had 9.8 grams of sugar.
