What Do The Lyrics Mean?

Any insight as to what some of EV's songs mean? For example, "Snow White Queen" is about Amy being stalked by a scary, obsessive fan.

My Immortal, I was told, is about someone close who died.

Quote:
Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time can not erase
Those stanzas show that a "presence" won't go away, that time can not erase and that the wounds won't seem to heal, which are all things I'd expect you'd feel if someone close died.

Personally, I always felt that MI was about a love that had soured and that her lover just couldn't leave...but I see your interpretation...very nice. It changes my perception of the song. "Your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone" very good.
How about..."though you're still with me, I've been alone all along."

Thanks, I never really interpreted it that way either until my friend and me got into a very serious debate .

But, I still see it more of a love song..

Of course, it was the first song I heard by EV, and I always said to myself, "Damn, I'd hate to be the guy she's singing about", but maybe I shouldn't feel that way

Not as much as Kelly Clarkson - Judas

No, it's quite powerful song, and the lyrics are open to interpretation.

I do love Everybody's Fool, those lyrics have layer upon layer!

Now, I have been told that Fool was sort of a slap at the Britney Spears' and Paris Hilton types...superficial, life-wasting walking mannequins which seems to be supported by Amy's clever You've got everybody fooled line change to "you're everbody's fool" at the end. Her video would have you thinking it was some kind of introspective song but I think she was just portraying the shallow media types.
