| Well the poets corner isn't going well so let's open it up to ANY poem...no theme just poetry! here's another: The Eagle I endure for my azure firmament No kingdom for my own to rule A roost on which to bear my spawn Is all that I do commandeer Or else the time I have ill-spent And cast away, shall be, to an icy gust And I will dwell here, play the fool. My, so called, majesty extinct My wings unfurled and turned to dust It is I, alone, my burden to convey That my progeny do lead the day So I may sleep and yield to them This aerie where we do not fear. It is my right and vain contentment I take with me on mountain wind Patrol the heavens; lose myself To the rapture of these whirling heights And steel my eyes to distant valleys Swiftly to plummet And tether to my sinewy talons Those that I condemn to death But who, for their existence, I owe mine So, gently do I end their pointless flight Just one fleet razor touch to serve Released from earth by deity design Frozen in awe to vent a final breath. My quarantine indulges me To glide upon the zephyrs of the gods Unfettered by the peril of mankind Yet unto myself I am pledged To endure To sire To sow the morrow with my scions Fill my tree of life against the odds I lay my solitary path among the clouds Dauntless of the blade laid on edge That seeks to cut the vigor from my span Condemn to oblivion nurslings of my race And cleanse the cliffs My sublimity and grace I fly Alone. __________________ All our lives, We've been waiting For someone to call our leader.Stop the Codex Alimentarius!! | |||

| Well we have more people here so I want to revive this thread if possible so I'll start with a short one: Through the Mist How tiny the sphere where we reside The pebble Once cast into the placid shoal Unsettles the blue expanse To tidings so simple A cosmic swell to ferry One ethereal epistle Returns again, it's answer told To one in similar circumstance Who watches Through the mist And wonders! __________________ All our lives, We've been waiting For someone to call our leader.Stop the Codex Alimentarius!! | |||
