I can't wait until their new album comes out. I just realised the other day that I've had 'Fallen' for almost two years now, it's time for a new one

I think the new album will be the same lyrically (I read an interview where Ben said that Amy wrote at least 90% of the lyrics), but a little more romantic? Perhaps softer? That's just a guess. I mean, Amy seems a lot happier these days, so why dwell on things that make you sad?

But Ben once said that he liked the idea of writing songs to purge yourself of these thoughts and feelings, but with Amy, it was never enough (like, she didn't get over it with just one song). So maybe I could be wrong.

Like I said before, I'd like more piano incorporated into the songs. Not necessarily (sp?) all ballads and stuff, but more songs like "Thoughtless". And a harder record wouldn't be bad also!

I just hope this album will be longer. I just hate it when artists skimp out on you by only putting 10 songs on an album! It's good stuff, so why limit it?

I'm getting so excited and anxious! Just imagining what it could be like... with the little hints Amy has given us and all. It sounds awesome!

The end of 2005 couldn't be further away.

I really can't imagine how the new album will sound like. I think I've imagined every possible scenario. But your guess is as good as mine.
I am only sure that I will like it because I know the lyrics will be pretty similar to the ones that they've done before. And there will be piano, which is something that I really like.

Couldnt agree more with you! Actually, I was looking for this thread to ask if you guys will like a "happier" album or an album like Fallen? Talking about lyrics here

I think we'll probably get a bit of both...I also wish they could just get rid off this whole "comercial" image they have with this new album...

I think the "commercial" sound they had was because of Ben (according to Amy), so I think that will be one of the most evident changes.

Since there is a rumor that the album will be out this November (fingers crossed!), I decided to post something that someone really helpful put together at the forum for onlyevanescence.com. It's almost like a recap of what has happened, and what we should expect and whatnot:

Breathe No More
Because this track wasn't included as a 'Fallen' b-side for any of the singles and was often played live this track is rumored to be on the next album. 'Breathe No More' has since been released onto the 'Elektra' soundtrack but there is still a slight possibility that it will appear in the next Evanescence record.

Mentioned in an interview with Amy Lee, she also mentioned how this track might possibly be the first single.

Mentioned in another interview with Amy but no other information was given out.

Inspirations

"I saw 'Van Helsing' in the movie theater last week," the Evanescence singer recalled recently. "Oh my God, it was so cool. I love vampire movies, and that was like the best one I've ever seen. I went home and I was so inspired."

"I just wait until I get inspired, which has been a lot lately, and I just sit there and let it go and I turn on the recorder," Amy explained. "You go back the next day and you try to weed through it and find the big parts and put it together."

Sound

"It still sounds like me, but I've been in a spooky mood lately, so I think it's gonna be kinda spooky," she said. "I'd like to use more organ. I wanna make it heavier and softer at the same time."

"I want to go in a lot of different directions we didn't go on Fallen, I want to get different emotions across. Obviously I think there's a spectrum of emotions on Fallen, but I think it's still limited in a lot of ways."

"It sounds like Evanescence, but it's creepy, it's kind of sexy, it's groovy, it's not so...It's sort of Portishead, A Perfect Circle, bands that take more artistic freedom — Portishead because they have more groovy, weird, sultry vibe, very similar to that. We're literally at the very beginning of this project, though, and it can all change...It can be a completely different record."

"The heavy stuff will be heavier, and the soft stuff will be softer, we just took extremes and pulled them apart."

"You do a few songs at a time and then you move on, so it's hard for me to say. It's still me and it's still rock and ambient and creepy and dark, but it's a little more vibey: it's not just the bridge-chorus ect. We'll see where the music takes us."

I don't know if I want some of the old songs on the new album...I've already listened to them a lot, so I'm hoping we'll get everything new

I'd like at least one old song on the new one. Just to hear it redone, you know? But new stuff is good too. Maybe they can re-record a couple of old songs and stick them on CD singles.
