Evanescence - New Album -- August 22, 2006?

Hey, does anyone know anything about a new album? What are you expecting?

Well I know that Amy had a jolt of inspiration from the movie VanHelsing. Will there be vampires on the new album??

Yeah, I heard about that too! That's kind of cool! Vampires and whatnot have been really interesting to me lately...

I do remember Amy saying that the next album will definitely not be another "Fallen", but it will still be Evanescence-y.

You know what I mean?

I wish they'd release more info...

Yah I kinda know what you mean. And I think that the fact that Ben isn't in the band anymore will also have some outcomes. It will be different, but still Evanescence.

well, second albums are usually different so i don't know if we'll ever know how it would have been w/ ben. i don't know, maybe it's b/c ben left, but i really think that amy's been the bigger source of music. could be wrong though.

I've always seen Evanescence like a partnership. With the partnership gone, I guess the new album will have to be different. I just hope it will be different in a good way.

I think so too actually. Because she wrote most of the lyrics and she probably wrote most of the piano music. I think that Ben was the main guitar writer. but yah, the guitar is a big part.

I was thinking maybe the new album will be softer. I've always seen Amy as the person who wrote the softer parts of the songs (the piano, the lyrics). What do you think? Am I wrong?

I thought I read somewhere that the main hold up with the second album was all legal. I guess Amy's been writing like crazy, but because of Ben being a part of things in the past there was some legal paperwork to deal with as far as rights and all were concerned. But I don't have the source of the info and my memory isn't the best so don't take my word as gospel.

It could be... I read in an interview that Amy needed Ben for his "angry guitar playing ways" (not her exact words... but that's seems about what she said...) so perhaps the new album will be softer. But then again, they've also got everyone else contributing this time, right? Because if they are, then maybe the new album will be completely different with all these other influences.

Hopefully they won't change their sound too much. I mean we all fell in love with the original Evanescence. I know it'll be hard without Ben, but I'm sure they'll try to keep it similar.

I hope they won't change too much. I mean... I like the softer and more quiet songs. But I also LOVE those songs that really really rock.
I hope they are going to keep a good balance of soft and hard rock songs.
