12/4 show at IZOD

Amy Lee was great, her voice is spectacular.. but the show lacked something, not quite sure what it was.. like they were going through the motions. This has been a long tour, so maybe they are just showing the fatigue.. ?

But a good show all around.

Did they play everything live or use a lot of sound track?

Alot of soundtrack, and the drummer err'ed more than once.. I actually think it was more like 10 times. The more I think about the show, since it's been a few hours past now, I think it was clearly signs of fatigue. It's either than or the band is unhappy and Amy Lee may do better as a solo act with a hired band, which would be happier to do the work.

Even with Amy sniffling like she's getting over a cold, she put on a fantastic show. I think she's tired, but still one hell of a show, and I've seen more than a fair share of concerts. The band, however, is what I think brought it down. Either they need a break or she needs to replace some people..

On a side note, the band Sick Puppies who was an opening band, was a decent band, but the chick they had on bass guitar, wow. Not just wow she's hot because thats most peoples reaction I guess, but wow she can really handle a bass guitar. Excellent professional A+ grade bassist. I wish her and the band well. Their lead singer came off as a real nice guy with alot of enthusiam and a good show all around.

Thanks very much for the review RustedEarth!

It doesn't surprise me that they are quite tired Its been a long tour and a long 18 months or so for Amy. Sounds like you had a great time anyway

And I agree with you - it's unlikely Evanescence will continue with this lineup.

The band behind her were members of Dark New Day and were put on the tour at the last minute so, it's understandable. I am not a big fan of on-stage sound tracking; it really turns me off; kind of like cheating. I saw a show on cable with Sick Puppies and thought they were very good also. In spite of all sounds like a good time.

^^ Its a surprise if they are'nt really performing though 'cos Amy always talks so enthusiastically about them. But as you say they were added last minute so.....

I have listened to Dark New Day many times on YouTube since their addition and they are a very good band but this is the last show of a long tour and they all could have been spent. Amy's OK she just had to hop in the limo and drive to her new home in Manhattan; a short jaunt from the Izod.
