Safety Glass

It is 1986. An emotionally damaged New York reporter is sent to cover the hometown hooplah for a local hero. But rather than pursue his assignment, which leaves him cold, he follows a group f disaffected students, whose own hero - their beloved, unconventional teacher - has just killed himself under a cloud of scandal. Their passionate and, at times, ludicrous expressions of grief attract him. He moves into their alternate universe, a willing substitute teacher, but descends into a web of lies and misplaced sexual desire with this group of confused and combustible youths who attempt to cast him as their new hero and teacher.

That sounds interesting. Definitely nothing like anything she's done before. Looks like she's steering away from the teen romance movies a little. This way she can show of more of her acting skills I guess.

Exactly. I mean if young actress's keep doing teen roles, they'll never get to experience other older roles and show off their acting. I think Mandy would do really good job in an older setting.

Plus I don't want her to get the image of the usual teenage actress like Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. It's good that she's growing up and trying different things. I would like to see her do another romantic drama again though. Maybe something like The Notebook. I just saw that movie and it was so sweet.

ya i dont believe they started filming or even planned a date to start filming. But i really want to see this..its a very different role that mandys taking.

When I first read about this, it really looked like a "teen" movie. I don't really know why, but I remember the synopsis being described a tad different. And there were other names in the listed cast.

Anyway, I'm very GLAD this doesn't look like a teen movie anymore, I'm glad Mandy's been chosing new interesting movies. Besides, Michelle Williams has been choosing very good movies (or at least movies I enjoy SO much) and since she's in it, I'm more confident this will be great.

I agree wtih you Cris, i mean i dont think it looks like a teen movie to me but it does look interesting. And for some reason I thought Josh jackson was in this movie.

I'm so glad michelle williams is also in this movie as well she's also a great actress. Looks like a great cast!
