I just realized that I am not on the fan list... I love this awesome little family! add me! add me!

I adore them because I was thinking about this as I stared at the pictures in the first post, and maybe part of the reason Naley are not really 'getting into it' over this whole scandal is because their primary worry is Jamie. At this point, he's the one they need to protect and airing out their issues or fears or showing any type of weakness would not be good for the kid.

I don't know though. I'm just trying to rationalize the irrational!

And, not going to lie, I don't even know if we can rationalize the lack of NH so far. It's not me hugely complaining or anything, but I do wish we were getting more of them AND more of NHJ in the face of this. Them talking to Jamie, or them trying to distract Jamie together, or them trying to...

I did like the convo they had about poor Jamie seeing the tabloid, though. I also really liked the scenes with Nathan and Jamie, and Nathan showing Jamie the picture he keeps, etc.

And, I'm sorry, cutest thing ever that Jamie was sleeping with his picture of his mom and dad. So adorable.

Now if we can just get some scenes... With all three of them. Bwah.

No, I agree Krys. I thought it was rational in the last episode, but the continuing lack of NH scenes is baffling. We need to see them dealing with this situation instead of just assuming things.

Exactly. We know Haley is behind Nathan 100 percent and that it's been explained to Jamie, so we need to see them pulling together as a family unit on-screen. Hopefully we'll get something next week to this effect.

And, I completely agree. I think the assumption thing is a huge part of the whole baffling.... The fact that they haven't shown us some of the big conversations where NH and NHJ are concerned with this are slightly odd to me.

Because, for me, when they don't show us, I have no idea what level of knowledge these characters (Jamie, Haley, and Nathan) are operating at.

I kind of touched on this in regards to NH when we didn't get to see Nathan tell Haley about the whole ordeal. But, I mean it in this case, too. It puts us and the characters at a disadvantage when we don't see the scenes, I think, and get to see the forward advancement of the story.

This is what I think it's so far cost us in terms of NH and NHJ, thus far, and again, not a complaint, I think they're handling this much better than times of past, but there's always room for improvement in anything, IMO. So... Here's what I think...

Now, we have no clue what Nathan told Haley, I mean, obviously he told her what was happening, but was it... We were drunk at this party, and this loon... Or was it... This chick is trying to exploit me, you know I didn't sleep with her. Few details. END. We know whatever he told her, he was honest with her, but WHAT exactly did he say. We have no clue what Haley asked in conjunction with having no clue how exactly he explained this, as it is, it seems she didn't ask any questions, or about any details, and that... Leaves her/them vulnerable to be blind-sided, or leaves them open to miscommunication, it makes it more difficult to see their growth as a couple, and a family unit (although I have seen growth), it... So many things. Nathan is a basketball superstar, Haley was a pop star who is trying to recapture some type of career in music again. They're spotlight people.

We need to see them talk about the glare of the spotlight, in this case. How they protect themselves from that, how it plays to their insecurities, how often... That's what I would have loved. Oh wells. Now we're just to assume they got what they needed from their talk that we didn't see, and all is well.

Same with the Jamie talk. Why didn't we see that? What does Jamie know? What does he think? What did they- How did he take it?

This is a story that so directly impacts this WHOLE family. I hope that more dialogue and depth filled scenes are coming, because so far, they're kind of lacking, I think. And, that may be intentional to keep us in the dark, sometimes the show does that to protect story/plot, or to keep their options open, or whatever else, but other times, it's just cause. LOL.

I really do want more on this front, as far as all of the dynamics are concerned. NH, NHJ, HJ, etc. I'd say NJ, too, but they got good stuff last night, at least. LOL. And, their scenes were good.

Did anyone else kind of squee at the mention of... If you're getting a brother and sister... I want this to be NH + 2 when the credits roll to end this series. IJS. LOL. I want the fairytale. End.

Totally agree with what you've said. They've been vague with what they've said to each other, in terms of showing it. Someone mentioned it last week I think where it's like Nathan has this whole other life separate from Jamie and Haley, that they don't really know about, an example of it showing would be the whole photo thing and Nathan telling Haley that he gets asked to take a lot of them. I definitely think that in terms of other things that NH(J) have gone through, they have grown in how they're handling this situation but there are still questions that need to be answered because what they're showing/telling us now is just too vague.

DUDE I so squeed! I was like ummm foreshadowing?! Please say yes, LOL. Agreed, at the end of this series, I want Hales and Nate to have an even bigger family.

Yeah they really haven't shown them talking. So far though, I think the show's done a pretty good job about what Haley is feeling in this situation (even this week we got a bit of how Jamie felt), but that doesn't cut it. We need to see NH talk about it, for reals. Because it's clear things are still weird about it. The NH scene when Haley brought home the tabloids, there was space between them. You could tell Haley wasn't fully comfortable. And yeah, maybe she won't be until this whole thing goes away, but I think if NH talked more about it, Haley would feel better, and Nathan too. However, the promo for this week got me excited with NH arguing a bit over it, I'll take arguing, because that (I think) will lead to talking. Maybe they DO need to argue to stop putting up this facade that everything is alright when deep down it isn't. I know they both want this whole thing to go away, but they can't just forget about it. They both need to tell each other how their feeling about this situation, and I'm sure they'll both feel a lot better. I'm hoping for a conversation next week ... because, yeah. They totes need to talk. What they've given us so far isn't enough.

Yeah, it does seem like they've been foreshadowing that a lot lately. Nathan saying that to Jamie, Haley telling Quinn she misses the craziness of a big family...I definitely see it leading to NH+2 by the end of the show, even if it's just a flash forward to them having another child in the series finale (although I would like to see some NH+2 in more than just the last episode of the show).
