Well, like I've said, I think they put James first just because of the main storyline with the brothers. He's always come before the rest(not counting Chad) and then it was all the other people. The brother's first, then everyone else. So, I think what was next was choosing the order of Joy/Sophia. Sophia is more famous... so, that makes sense. It would have been nice if Joy was still in the same order. I'm just saying, I don't really care.

In the credits, Sophia always came after Paul Johansson and then all the other regulars/non-core 5s came after. She was never mixed in with the core in the credits. It's obvious, 7 seasons later, that Brooke is more focused on than Dan. If Sophia Bush's name always came in that order, but the show LOVED her and she was in the core 5... I mean, just look at how they write Brooke on the show. It's a Brooke world, yet her name always came after the rest. I just don't think that the order is an issue because it doesn't really matter or show how much the show respects them. Brooke's always been a star and they wrote more for her than Haley, but her name was was last in the 5.

I think we should stop worrying about the credits and focus more on Joy actually in the show. She's the second person you see in the season, right? Joy got her whole song to be played in the beginning when all the excitement about a new season is still in people's minds. It's wonderful promotion for Everly. That CD is going to sell on fire. Look at how "Feel This" did and the way it promoted Enation. This'll be a whole Joy/Everly CD and OTH is promoting it. I don't see where there isn't respect here.

Sigh disappointing. I am going to go back and listen to Quicksand and look at how gorgeous Joy is. We're just going to have to agree to disagree I think.

I really just think it's because SB is more famous than Joy. It's not money/salary wise, because SB has been making more than Joy for a while. What they SHOULD do, so there is no fuss over this, is just put the cast in alphabetical order like LOST or something. But whatevs, It doesn't really bother me. Do I wish they didn't change the order of the credits? Of course. But I've been waiting for this to come for a while now, since season 5 when Sophia was ahead of Joy on the cast list. I guess I just kind of expected it. And Sophia wouldn't go before James because this show is about 2 brothers. No matter how far they strayed from that theme over the years. Even with Chad/Lucas gone, the focus is still on Nathan. He's the lead. You guys know me, I'm not one to defend this show by any means, but maybe I'm just done caring. Maybe because I expected it, it didn't hit me as hard, I don't know.

I'm the first to admit that I’m not thrilled obviously about the cast order, but if this is a great Haley season than I can see past it. This is not the first show I’ve watched where it’s happened. On Charmed Holly Marie Combs was arguably the more popular character and even had the most screen time and yet Alyssa Milano was first on the credits. Its backstage politics, Joy is a time in her life where she has so many projects and is in a great place creatively, she’s happy so I will ignore stuff like this so I can focus on the good, like Quicksand!

Thanks so much for dropping off the Spoiler reminder over here. Definitely a wonderful thing to bring back around now that the new season is getting close to starting. I know sometimes we all get so excited and carried away about posting something that we don't always stop to consider, but it's good to start off being aware and knowing what constitutes a spoiler or not. And like you said, if anyone has questions at all, we are happy to help!

A mention of Charmed got my eyes glued to your post, Jess. Ah yes, backstage politics sucks but it does happen and sadly, we have no control over it.

Yay for Quicksand! I love love loved it! Minus a few scenes I could have lived without seeing...but wow. Joy/Haley looked and sounded absolutely amazing!

I know I should just let this topic die, but yeah...Last night when I first saw this I was admittedly not happy at all with the cast order changes. This morning, I'm still not happy, but like you said, this is simply backstage politics and not exactly unexpected given that fact and how Joy has consistently been treated by this show since day 1.

Regardless of credit order, Joy will always be my #1 on this show. And I'm going to just focus on that fact and the fact that she's got so much going on for her outside of this show that will, at the end of the day, get her so much further in her career than if she had just relied on getting her physical image out to the media/blogs so that she could maintain her rightful spot in the credits of this show. She's using her talents to get ahead, her talents are numerous and varied...singing, acting, directing, writing, producing to name a few...and people in the industry...outside of OTH at least...are recognizing this already. Physical image/appearance is fleeting. True talent is not and Joy has that in spades.

I think you've summed it perfectly Becky. Joy has lasting qualities that go way beyond the surface and she's doing what makes her happy, which is the most important thing. Granted it sucks (understatement) that Joy got bumped in the credits and even though I don't pay attention to those sorts of things, I do recognise the significance of it. I just feel it's one of those things that Joy won't be bothered by because she's above the politics of it and she doesn't feel the need to be in the public eye to achieve her goals and I respect her so much for that.

GAH CHARMED. Fav show ever, LEGIT. But anyways, not to negate your statement or anything, becasue I too am not that upset about the credit order, but on Charmed, when Shannen was still on, she was first in the credits, not Holly. Then when Shannen left, Alyssa was first, but Holly also got the "as Piper Halliwell" even though she was last of the main 3. So that showed she was the most important, even if she was last. It's different with Joy, since she doesn't have the "as HJS" etc.

But anyways, like I said before, the credits really don't matter to me. Joy is still on the show, and still one of the main characters. Haley has fans, just like all the other characters. She's still gonna have screentime. Just like when Sophia was 4th, you can argue she had more screentime than Joy. I mean yeah I wish they didn't change it, but whatevs. There are bigger things to worry about and fuss over I think.
