I thought they were kind of sad too but at the same time very comforting. Like has been said here, you can tell Clay loves the Scott family and is very protective of them so seeing him comfort Haley was really nice to see and for Haley to be able to go to someone with this problem. Reminds me of the Haley/Lucas relationship a little.

^Aww yeah! He does remind me of Lucas a little, the way he cares for their family. I'm glad Clay is totally on their side too. Like he didn't try to pressure Nathan one way or the other. He gave him his options and said it was up to him to decide what to do.

OMG you know I was thinking that he`s her new Lucas?! No lie. She needs a male friendship (besides Nathan) who will advise her when she needs it. Clay has been around for so long and you can see how much he truly cares for Haley and her family. I love that!

I so agree with the sentiment in here. Loved the Haley and Clay scenes this episode. So good.

I hope we see more interaction on this front, because they've got great chemistry, they're both talented, and I buy the story they're telling. I absolutely love the way Clay has been integrated in to this show. He cares about this family so much.

I like that we got to see Haley race over there, and completely vent her frustration, lay in to him, him dish it back, and then when both of them took a step back, everything was okay in their relationship, and they were talking it out and falling right back in to their roles of being close. Those are the types of dynamics I really appreciate. Where characters fight, but you know their bond is shown as being strong enough to fight it out, and still be okay, more than okay. They really are playing as super close/family. Awesome.

The whole NHQC dynamic structure that continues to be built is so amazing.

I loved their scene because it seemed so natural she yelled at him I know it's strange it feels like she was with new Lucas and she feels the same way. Not a love stuff but friends stuff and the laying right next to the beach was so cute

I concur. That's definitely another part of what I'm loving with these two. Their scenes played so comfortably and naturally, I totally believe the closeness of their bond.

I mean, I know we're supposed to think Clay has been with them for a good long while, and we're supposed to think that he's close to them, but it's something entirely different for it show and play that way, if that makes sense.

Their scenes, it completely comes across, from the dialogue, to the behavior, to the comfort in their actions and interactions with each other, and their lack of hesitance to yell or speak their minds. Just... everything.

Broken record, but I adore Clay's addition to the world of NHJ. Look forward to more HC.

Krys, I agree with you on everything you said. I mean it was just amazing. I picked that up when I first saw them in a scene together but last night it really showed that well, in my opinion.

See, this is what I thought too, K and what I also tried to say when it comes to Shantel/Quinn. It's hard for a character as well as the actor to come into a show that has been going on as long as it has and step into a cast that have known and worked with each other for many years. They have to come in and make it believable that they know these characters, they know the history and that they share a bond. Often, that can take a lot of time to accomplish but I think Rob has, as well as Shantel, have been succesfull if you consider that it is in its 7th season already.

The closeness I felt between NHJ and Clay in the first episode was really awesome and the closeness I saw between Haley and Clay as well in the previous episode was incredibly believable to me. I felt that they were good friends, almost family even, I felt their bond and I felt how much they cared about each other. That must be really hard to do but I think the chemistry was there instantly.

I loved this scene. Both Clay and Haley had tears brimming. It was played so well by Joy/Rob. I can't wait for more HC scenes. But I'm not getting my hopes up since we already had two scenes in one ep. We all know with OTh that usually means it'll be eps before they interact again LOL.

LOL, unfortunately, that is true. I am just hoping for more though since they seem to, GASP, actually balance the characters this season and also balance the interaction between the different people. I really, really hope that keeps up and I feel like that is one of the major things that have lacked on OTH in every season.

Agreed! I really think their friendship could do well for the show. I already look at Clay as a sort of big brother, already protective of Haley and the rest of th Scotts and I could not love it more.
