B-Haley’s right. The point is that I’ve been deceptive. It’s not so much that I lied to anyone’s face. It’s more about what I didn’t say.
H-Oh ok. There is a big difference between a lie and a little white lie.
B- Really?
H- Yeah.
B-Haley lied to Nathan.
H-Not exactly.

B- Yeah. I just wish I had had a family like yours.

B- Haley, can I talk to you? Umm, I’m going tell Turner the truth.
H- Don’t. So I lost my job at the tutoring center. It’s not as important as you not graduating or losing your clothing contract.
B- Thank you. None of that is as important to me as us- and maybe my clothing contract. No, seriously. None of it. I’m just so sorry I didn’t tell you, Haley. Can you forgive me?
H- You are on notice Brooke Davis. Clean up you act. Be the girl I love.
B- Ok.

B- What are you doing? The band is playing, you’re missing it.
H- This is such a bad idea.
B- But Nathan totally talked to you. He swooped in like some sort of night in Batman armor.
H- That’s not the point. I look like an idiot.
B- Ok maybe now that you’ve messed up your hair.
H- This whole thing is a lie. You turn into some spandex wearing cigarette smoking hussy and you get your man. That doesn’t work.
B-You were smoking?
H- Even if it did- that’s not who I am. I’m a tutor, I’m a nerd.
B-You’re a rockstar.
H-Not anymore. I’m just Haley. That really should be enough. I’m done playing games, Brooke. I’m just going to go home.
B- Ok.
H-And there better be cookie dough.

B-What is your name?
H-Ha-ley.
B- Yeah, I don’t like that name. Let’s call you, Brooke.

B-That’s perfect. Brooke you can come with us.
H-Yeah, she named me Brooke.
B- We’re going on a roadtrip.

B-Pretty good, huh?
H-Yeah. Hey, I don’t think you need the apostrophe though on Bros. It’s not really grammatically correct.
B-It’s my fashion line and I’m keeping the apostrophe.
H-Ok. Well good for you. You did it all yourself anyway.
B-Not really. You got me there.
H-Yeah, I kind of feel like a big fraud.
B-What? Why?
H-Because I told you to put yourself before boys and I secretly spent the whole day thinking about Nathan.
B--Why? Did something happen?
H-You know how I told you that Nathan kissed me at the masquerade party?
B-Yeah.
H-It might not have been Nathan. I think it might have been Chris.
B-Kringle? No, I didn’t think so. Wow! How could you kiss Chris Keller and then think that Chris was Nathan?
H-Maybe I just wanted to believe it was Nathan so bad…what if I was wrong though? He could just be trying to keep things pleasant until the divorce is final.
B-I do not believe that. I don’t. It’s hard isn’t it? I mean I love my clothes. But there’s an ache in my heart where Lucas used to be and -I don’t think covering it up with a stylish smartly priced sweat top going to make it go away.
H-It is stylish though.

B-Ok. Just think of it this way- most guys buy motorcycles because their compensating for you know. Nathan wears size 14’s
H-Oh thanks. I feel so much better now.

H- What is your next line inspired by twilight?
B- There is no next line. Have you looked around. Might as well go back to selling coffee here.
H- Gee, that seems like a lifetime ago. What’s going on with you.
B- Everybody else has families, and kids, and careers and- I have this.
H- Brooke don’t sell yourself short. You’ve got all of us, you’ve got a god son who loves you. And the reason that I came by today is to tell you about something really rare I saw. Guess what is was.
B-A unicorn? I always wanted to see a unicorn
H- Even more rare then that. It was a group of students that wanted to study more. They came over my house this afternoon during school- and guess who was leading their leader, Sam. It’s amazing how far she’s come since I found her sleeping in the back seat of a car. She’s socialized, she’s a solid student, she’s writing. I think she has a budding romance with Jack happening too. And they stayed behind to clean up the mess after everybody left.
B- Well that’s a lot more then she did when she trashed this place.
H- So I wanted to tell you because, you should be proud of her and of yourself. All that girl needed was a stable environment and you gave it to her.

H-Hey.
B- Hi Tutormom. How you feeling? You having fun or are you worried about the kid?
H- I am worried- about you, too. I’m going to miss you this summer.
B- Ok. Don’t- don’t do that. Don’t make me cry because I’m barely holding it together as it is.
H- Nathan and I want you to be James’s godmother.
B- Ok that’s going to do it. Haley. I would honored to be his godmother and I promise you that unlike my ungodly mother, I will so kickass at this.
H- I know you will- as long as you don’t say kickass around him too much.
B- Right, sorry.

H- Could you just umm- one second.
B- Oww. That hurts.
H- Ok, listen here sister. I joined cheerleading and I stayed in this stupid draft because of who-you. Now I am this close of getting a actual date with Nathan, so if you don’t suck it up and go on a date with Chris Keller, I swear the only puss infected sores you’re going to be licking are your own when I get through with you. Do you get it? Ok great, we’re going.
B- Well.

B-Oh Haley I’m so sorry. I tripped over the table. Here, here, here. Let me soak this in club soda. You should go take a shower.
H-That’s not a bad idea.
B-I’m sorry.
H- That’s ok.
B-God. Terrible. This is really bad.

B- Can I talk to you?
H- Uhh ok. Well, things are a little crazy right now.
B- Rachel caught me making maternity clothes
H-Brooke! On the list of people that know about this pregnancy I’m thinking Rachel really is not on the top of the list.
B- I know.
H- Ok. Well calm down. Does she suspect anything at all?
B- No. I don’t think so.
H- Ok. So it’s just you and me that knows. Let’s just keep it that way. It’s best. ok
B- I think I’d feel better if I didn’t even know about it.
H- It’s a little late for that, isn’t it? Did you and Lucas ever talk about what would happen if you…
B- Yeah. Last year, you know. He said he’d be there for me and the baby but I could tell he was scared and feeling trapped. He must’ve been frightened.
H- Yeah.
B- Did you and Nathan ever talk about it?
H-Yeah, don’t you remember? It was that night that we spent together . And then he found out I wasn’t on the pill, he freaked out. It was like the worst fight we ever had. Brooke, I got to get back out there. I’m sorry. It’s crazy and Deb’s out to lunch.
B- This is a awfully late lunch.
H- She’s here- she’s literally out to lunch. I’ll call you later.
B-Haley. It’s going to be ok, right?
H- Yeah Brooke it’s going to be ok. I hope.

H-So considering I’m a honors student. How many years do you think I would get for stabbing someone-say Peyton with a giant fork.
B-Ok let’s not keep sharp objects around the house. I know that this whole thing with Nathan sucks for you. But right now I need your help bringing Rachel to her knees. Yes I know, it’s ironic. So here is my plan, I’m going to snipe her draft pick. She needs to know what it feels like when the shoe is up the other ass.
H- Ok what do you need from me? And do not say my shoes.
B- No. Rachel picks fifth. You pick fourth. I need you to pick Lucas so no one else gets him while I‘m screwing her over..
H- What about Bevin- she’s third.
B- Yeah, but she’s picking Skills.
H- Oh.
B-We got a deal?
H- Yeah well if I can’t have Nathan I may as well take Lucas. Deal.

H- I’m not sure that I can handle thinking of you and Lucas hooking up in the same room where I’m sleeping.
B-Lucas and/or others.

H-Yeah.
B-You didn’t really think I wanted to know all that stuff, did you?

H- I’ll take one unfinished wedding dress. That’s all I want and I’ll pay top dollar for it.
B- Well I’ll pay top dollar for one song off of an unfinished album.
H- I don’t like this game anymore.

H- So what’s going on with baby Brooke?

H- Well speaking of- Owen looked pretty hot last night. Didn’t you think so Millie?
B- I think Sam is driving me crazy wilding about like a feral cat. Sam- this is a boutique, it is not a skate park. If you have a plan to fill this place up, have at it. Otherwise go skate in traffic.
H- Clearly I’ve upgraded Sam’s foster living environment.

H- And speaking of- I thought Owen looked pretty hot last night. Didn’t you think so Millie?

B-At least I made one kid happy today.
H-What happened?
B-I was gonna talk to Sam last night like you said. And she never showed. And I just told her I can't help her anymore. I'm sorry Haley.
H-No no. I should not have forced her on you. I just thought... If anyone could handle her you could Because you were a lot like her and you got past it. I thought she could too if somebody gave her a chance.
B-Well I guess I'm not strong enough.
H-Brooke you ... you're the strongest person I know. You just gave up a multimillion dollar corporation and you seem fine about it. I wish I had your strength.
B-My strength? Haley you gave up your singing career to be with Nathan Who was at least as screwed up as me or Sam when you got a hold of him. And now he's the best guy I know. Look it was scary. I was scared to death to give up the company. But it wasn't fun anymore. And now I get to do what I fell in love with design clothes on my terms.
H-Yeah. that sounds familiar. I met a girl who sings on the street every day for fun. It's amazing. She seems so happy. Music used to be like that for me and it's just not anymore. You know?
B-Well then you need to make it fun again. Find what you loved about it and start there. You're too strong not to.
H-I will think about it.
B-Okay.
H-You're definitely done with Sam?
B-I'll think about it.
H-Good.

B-I just had a great idea!
H- Does it involve trigonometry?
B-I don’t know what that is so I doubt it. (Sits on the couch.) You are gonna be a cheerleader.

B-I know, it’s sudden, right? But, I was thinking, you did such a great job filling in at last years tournament that why not do the same thing this year, only permanently.
H- Thanks, but I’ll pass.
B-Come on. You’re my roommate. You’re supposed to have my back. That Rachel girl, she’s stealing my life. She’s dating Lucas, which… OK, I accidentally orchestrated, but my entire squad has a girl-crush on her!
B-Basically, if you do not cheer, I’m screwed.
H-Brooke, I have a lot going on in my life right now. Nathan’s being all hot and cold and now with Chris back in town-
H-Oh my god.
B- What?
H- Oh, that’s totally it. That’s exactly why Nathan’s acting so weird – he knows Chris is back in town and he thinks I had something to do with it.
B-Oh. Yeah, great, we’ve solved your riddle. Can we please get back to mine!? Gimme an ‘H’!
H-I can’t!
B- You can, and besides, I thought your goal was to be with Nathan. You’d be with him all the time; pep rallies, and away games-
H-I know, I-I get it. I just… I think that if I join the cheerleading squad, Nathan would see it as some, like, pathetic attempt to get close to him.
B-That’s funny. It seems to me like worrying about what Nathan thinks is pathetic is actually pretty pathetic. Forget about Nathan. Why don’t you do what you want for once?

B-Let me rephrase that. Why don’t you just do what I want for once? Come on.
