Southland Spoilers and Speculation#3: Because the second season is almost here and we can't wait to find out what's next

I became a fan of Southland during its short run on NBC last season. Do you have anything on what we can expect in Season 2? Will we get more insight into Officer Sherman's relationship (or lack thereof) with his father? — Jocelyn
TIM: Southland's writers baited very beautiful little traps to draw us back each week, and Ben's backstory is among the most alluring. We'll definitely find out more about the dynamic he shares with his big-shot defense lawyer dad, as well as whether Det. Clarke survived that out-of-nowhere shooting. I'd follow this show to hell — or even to Friday night, as the case may be.

Southland got off to a solid ratings start during its inaugural run on NBC, only to flame out as the season ended and find itself relegated to Friday nights in the fall.
Still, loyal viewers were rewarded with a handful of intriguing storylines as Southland drew to a close, two of which will be heavily focused on when the show returns.
According to senior editors at TV Guide, Ben Sherman's backstory, specifically the dynamic he shares with his defense lawyer father, will be expounded upon in season two.
Also, fans will discover the fate of Detective Clarke, who was shot in the May finale.

Yay, you used my title

I'm surprised that we don't see a lot of casting calls so far.

LOL, Yeah, It's getting hard finding titles

So, what do we think about Michael having to go to a stunt driving school? I bet we'll see a lot of action this season.

Hi guys, thanks for keeping us up to date on the news. Today I went to the nbc website for the first time in a while and I was surprised by the number of hits Micheal is getting. In the past Ben has always had a least double the amount of hits but now he and Micheal both have around 42,000 hits many, many more than any of the other cast members. I wonder if the writers will consider the boards when they plan the upcoming season or if they will stick to the shows origonal plan. I hope they mostly stick to their origonal concept but I do hope Ben/Cooper get major story lines and I must admit I really want to see them in every episode. I think focusing on the beat cops is one of the things that separates this show from all the others.

That's great! I'm happy that Michael is getting more attention, I think he's a great actor and Copper is an awesome character. And honestly Michael seems like a really nice guy too, so all power to him

I hope he'll get more screen time, and not just because his and Ben's storylines are so linked, but because I truly like his character.

I really like Micheal and the character of John Cooper too and I actually think he has a better shot at a Emmy nomination than Regina but to be honest I'm not as enamored with Regina as most of you guys are. By the end of the day Micheal had many more hits than Ben, I think it might have something to do with the fact Micheal uses Twitter.

So what if he had more hits lol? That doesn't make Ben less good in my eyes.

I'm not saying that at all. I think both Ben and Micheal are wonderful. It's harder for Ben to get recognition for how good he is because he is so natural in his acting, he often says so much without any words. I think the reason he is sometimes given such quite scenes is because he is one of the few actors that can pull them off. I just was noticing that Micheal was suddendly getting so many hits whereas in the past Ben had far, far more and I think it's directly related to the fact that Micheal uses Twitter something I think Ben will resist doing usless really pushed to do so by the shows producers or NBC. It's just too out of character for him but I can see why the cast members are being encouraged to Twitter, it's free and effective promotion for the show.

I'm sure the Twitter thing had a lot to do with it, but I would also like to think that he gets more hits because people find his character interesting too.

I wish we had spoilers *sigh* still no casting calls
