Great episode!

The begining scene confrimed who I thought was going to die.

How funny was it when John drove passed Ben running?? I also thought the karate thing was pretty funny. Ben, sure is full of surprises.

Lydia was great as well!

I just saw the episode and I'm crying like a baby...Nate :'( My theories about his death were correct.

Great episode as usual!
Ben made me laugh out loud when he spoke Japanese

And I loved John called him Super Boot

TNT’s acclaimed drama Southland scored season-high numbers last Tuesday night, with 2.1 million viewers and 1 million adults 25-54. The episode delivered a remarkable 28% more viewers and 23% more adults 25-54 than the previous week.

With final Live + 7 data now available for the Jan. 3 season premiere of Southland, the episode grew its audience to 3.1 million viewers (+47% over Live + Same Day) and more than 1.4 million adults 25-54 (+50% over Live + SD).

I laughed and I cried. John's message to Ben is not to get too cocky now that he's been out of the academy for 9 months. Wonder if they will still be partners after the next 3 months. John alluded that they might not be.

Why do all of these characters leave their cars running and jump out? Also, if Nate & Sammy are seasoned detectives, why would they get out of the car themselves into a group of "houdlums" knowing they could get hurt without back-up? In every other scene when there's 2 cops at a location, 10 more cops show up.

I think the point was that Nate made a "rookie" like mistake because he let his emotions get the better of him and tried to be Rambo and it cost him his life. Sammy tried to stop him, but he wouldn't listen.
