It's my opinion so I don't know why you seem so upset over this, but whatever. To answer your questions though..the only person I said scammed Ryan into liking her was Taylor so I don't know where you are going with this. I didn't say Lindsay was special... I said her and Ryan had a healthier relationship. Ryan LOVED Marissa I think more than any other girl on the show, but they had a very unhealthy relationship. Marissa treated him badly, and she was too unstable--getting drunk, lying to her parents, getting Ryan into trouble, etc. I mean she had an open bottle of vodka in the car when Ryan was driving KNOWING that he was on probation. It's evident they did not have a healthy relationship. Sadie and Ryan had a healthy relationship from her standpoint, but Ryan wasn't ready. I always felt Sadie was more of a rebound girl even though he REALLY seemed to care about her. Their lives were just too different and it wasn't meant to work out. Theresa and Ryan could have had a healthy relationship, but she lied to Ryan initially about her fiance. Moreover, Ryan had pretty much run back to Theresa because she was a "comfort zone" so to speak. He was hurt by Marissa over Oliver and he trusted Theresa so it felt right to him at the time. However, they both knew they shouldn't have had sex and any time there is a pregnancy involved that creates huge problems for the relationship. After the pregnancy, he was with Theresa because he felt obligated to be with her in order to take care of the child and not because he loved her. That is NOT healthy at all.

Lindsay was a pure girl. She was into books and studying and she didn't do things that could drag Ryan down (neither did Taylor or Sadie, which is why I love them too). Lindsay was a bit whiny at times and it annoyed me when she wanted Ryan to apologize to Caleb, but he cared for her in the pure way that I think a high school relationship should be. They didn't have sex, but the way they showed affection toward one another was very sweet. He was evidently happy when he was with her and at that point in his life, he was no longer experiencing much drama because he was deep into his studies. In other words, he had a good influence on him.

Taylor is adorable because she LOVED Ryan a lot and did very sweet things from him. The problem was that she was too needy. That's the ONLY thing I have against Taylor. She should never have tried to get him to like her or say he loves her, etc. That has to come naturally... but for the tv show it worked. All I was saying is that in real life, it doesn't work that way 9 times out of 10.

My favorite Ryan relationships are:
1)Taylor
2)Lindsay
3)Sadie

Just because I say Lindsay was the healthiest doesn't mean I think she was the most entertaining. Please don't take what I say the wrong way.
Btw, in terms of doing things "cute" or "funny"... Lindsay did plenty. Remember when she made Ryan yamaclauses and put one on his head and kissed him? I think that's one of the cutest moments on the OC to be honest. Ben and Shannon had good chemistry imo. They both always looked genuinely happy when they kissed each other and they were so cute to me.

I am still with the whole Ryan + Marissa deal, Just because their love was endless, tragic and epic all at the same time. You know boy meet's girl on the wrong side of the tracks, They end up falling crazy inlove with one another and events keep pulling them closer and farther apart yet they still remain in touch.

i got the impression you preached lindsay up a lot. i just don't know why. the comparing with taylor made me want to say something to defend taylor. yes what you said is true. Rl's relationship was not unhealthy as Rt's. johny's not violent as ryan. DJ's not overly talkative as seth. what a role did was based on his (her) character given by the creaters. if his (her) character got well developed he(she) would be great. taylor is great, lindsay is not. taylor was supposed to neurotic so it's logical she's wanna get the "yes" from ryan. taylor's knowledgeble, needy of affection, too. all her personality traits were linked to the storylines. what would happened in the show, what would she bring to ryan, and how she and ryan's relaitonship got affected, and so on. but how about lindsay? she's supposed be a cool girl? she's so "cool" when facing the fashionable marissa. she's supposed be a smart girl? did her passion for knowledge bring anything great to the show? taylor's passion for literature got ryan write poems to challenge the frog and that's hilarious. lindsay never did good sarcasm. all of sarcasm she did was rude and annoying. when summer did sarcasm she's so bitchy but funny or cute at the same time. but that's just my opinion. you have many awesome views posted but this time, didn't work for me.

i think there's a lot great things about ryan and marissa's relationship.
ryan and marissa had active interactions. they helped each other, they pleased each other and they got hurt from each other. but when ryan's with some other girl, he always was the one did much more for the other one and got little pay back.
ryan and marissa's relationship integrated with the whole storyline. (yes it's just the main characters' superiority.) ryan's relationship with some other girl was always isolated from the whole stroyline.
ryan and marissa had a lot of cute scenes. when they were kissing, ryan conquered his fear of heights. when ryan was kissing some other girl, nothing happened.
when ryan and marissa was sleeping in the same bed, ryan said they could just sleep. how sweet and gentle he was. when ryan was sleeping with some other girl he didn't say anything like this.

when ryan and marissa were together, one thing was always connected with another thing. it's great although in season three everything changed.

And every OC forum is supposed to be the end all be all for what relationships were good on the show? I don't really see the point in arguing all of this because I'm entitled to my opinion, but whatever... I'll go along with it.

Okay, so I specifically state in numerous threads that Taylor was my favorite girl that Ryan dated and now you say I'm preaching Lindsay up? My point exactly was that people on multiple other forums (and I guess you too) hate on Lindsay all the damn time when her name comes up. ALMOST EVERYBODY hates on Lindsay on OC forums, and I loved her so naturally I'm going to stick up for her because I don't feel her character deserves all that hate. Most people prefer Taylor, Marissa, etc. over Lindsay. I think Lindsay needs some love too so even though I like Taylor better in the entertainment department, I show Lindsay lots of love mainly because Ryan was the sweetest he had ever been on the show when he was around her imo. Nothing that anybody has ever said that hates her sounds convincing to me. It's all about "Oh she's boring, etc." Those are all silly reasons to hate so adamantly on a character. She had Freudian slippers! Enough said. I like dork over fashion model any day. Sadie was cool to me because she played video games and liked to mess with tools (which I do). Taylor was cool to me because she liked Anime and Korean bar-B-Que (which I do), and Lindsay was adorable to me because she was so smart, innocent, and dorky (and I love books and am a dork too). Anna was my favorite because all around she was just AWESOME! She was the female version of Ryan. She was smart, witty, and I loved the way she dressed and carried herself. People hate on her all the time, but I've learn to accept that the people who do are just obsessed Summer fans.

That's your opinion. I'm not sure if you were just getting the wrong impression or what, but NEVER was I trying to convince anybody that Lindsay was entertaining or that they should like Lindsay. I even said "I know I'll be ducking furniture for saying this..." in a joking manner in the original post in the RT thread about this because I knew that most people wouldn't agree with what I said about the "healthiness" of the relationship. I was merely stating MY OPINIONS and I just feel like you took it as attacking Taylor, which it WASN'T. I'm sure you can agree that I can have my opinion about Lindsay and we can agree to disagree amicably.

Yeah? You know I think her having her mouth open was cute. I always hear people hating on Anna too because of similar stupid things like that. She had her mouth open because she was nervous and stuttering, and Ryan did something similar around Lindsay also. I found it adorable. I love it when they blushed and were tongue tied. That's the way I am around a boy I really like in real life. Are you going to tell me there's something wrong with that? Let me guess... you won't say it, you'll just think it in your head. *sigh...* She's a very realistic character to me. The truth is, Anna followed by Taylor, Alex, and Lindsay were my favorite younger girls to be on the show EVER. Summer would be 5th. I like what I like (which happens to go against what most people liked) and I'm okay with that. I don't care that people disagree with me... just don't try to convince me that I shouldn't like Lindsay because I ADORE her character.

That being said... no hurt feelings goodperson.

I think we seem to agree on most things pertaining to Ben and the OC, but on this topic we will never see eye to eye.

actually lindsay is not the one who got the most hated. i guess marissa or taylor is. because lindsay never got attention that much. it's nothing wrong to like lindsay. i just feel the reason for loving lindsay you stated and the comparing thing don't make lindsay looked better. it just reminds me another thing uneven about her---- why she's not stuttering when she did sarcasm? you said I don't care that people disagree with me but it seems like you do. you said "she's boring, etc" were silly reasons to hate her. then what would be good reasons to hate her? it seems like you compared taylor with lindsay just to get more attention from that people disagree with me.
and what Let me guess... you won't say it, you'll just think it in your head. means? pls tell me honestly and fankly. and i don't try to convince you that you shouldn't like Lindsay. i just convince you that you should have better reasons and better methods to defend lindsay. it seems like i'm the only one who don't like lindsay and feel a little uncomfortable with the comparing thing. you can focus attention on what i'm saying and defend her. lindsay is unlovely not because she's dorky. i don't hate dork. do you really think anyone can be more dorky than an asian? lindsay is unlovely because as a dork, she couldn't keep cool when facing fashionable marissa. that's why i don't like her.

goodperson – If you don't like Ryan/Lindsay (or just Lindsay) that's totally fine. There are a lot of people that would agree with you and that's fine too. But I am with TC when it comes to Lindsay, and I don't think it's fair to say that our reasons for liking her don’t make Lindsay look better because for us (those of us that liked her) it does.

There are a lot of Ryan fans that hated Lindsay (like you) and others that adored her (like me and TC), there's no point of arguing about it in my opinion, because the reasons we like one character and not another is subjective. I'm sure that I can give you a lot of reason why I liked Lindsay and you still won't be convinced. And you can do the same with me and I still adore Ryan/Lindsay every time I'll watch the second season.
