^ ITA. CBS' Friday shows manage to pull 9 or 10 million viewers, so there's no reason why Southland can't develop and grow. The best thing is that it's now going to have a more appropriate lead-in than the Thursday comedies were. And NBC are clearly seeing its future as a more male-oriented show (which is where it's been doing best so far within the total 18-49 demo) so from a business POV it makes sense to for them to focus in on that as one of the show's strengths. It'll be interesting to see whether actively targetting a male audience affects the show's content in any way next season.

So I'm listing to the Bobby Jones show right now. It's like 7:30 in Austin, TX although it's 8:30 where I live in Atlanta, so I guess Ben will be on in an hour. I totally forgot about the time difference.

Well, TC, at least for the ratings they count DVR and online viewings now! I will fall into the latter category.

I will try to be optimistic about the Friday night time slot. *sigh* But to be perfectly honest with you, I still have my doubts. Hopefully the ratings prove me wrong! I have come to really like this show, so I certainly don't want it to be cancelled!

*** Okay, so I just listened to it. Ben brought Michael Cudlitz, so he was chillin' on the other line listening

and the whole time he'd be like, "Stop asking me questions... this is a Ben McKenzie interview." The interview was kind of too short actually, but Ben was cute. His voice sounded sexy, but a little bit Texan/Southern ahaha. Amy asked him if he had this certain teacher when they were in Austin High and he said yeah. They asked him why he uses McKenzie and not Schenkkan, and he explained that. They asked Ben if people call him Ryan Atwood and how he responds. He said if you want to get ignored by him, then call him Ryan Atwood.

He said if somebody is a real fan, they would have the decency to at least learn his real name. Also, they asked him about how long he'd been acting or if it's something he always wanted to do, and he talked about how he didn't really--he was going to go to law school, but he got bored with school and thought he'd try out the drama department because there were a lot of hot girls there. Then it grew on him, and now he loves it. They asked him if he's been offered bigger roles or if he almost got any bigger roles and he said he's gotten like 1 job for every 1000 rejections (something like that, don't really remember). Him and Michael joked about how he calls Michael old...

They asked him if his acting career has worked out for him in terms of meeting the ladies, and he said "Yeah, it's been great." Bobby asked him if he's met Tina Turner and he thought that was really random, but said he hasn't. That's what I remember off of the top of my head. It seemed as if they didn't really know too much about him, hence why their questions weren't any deeper. Obviously he (Ben) made some jokes in between there in response to each of those questions, but I couldn't remember any of that stuff in a manner where I could type it up. He was sweet though. I did like how in the beginning they were talking about this sad story related to cancer when Ben called in, and he said "Oh no...!" And they responded with something, and he said "Wooowee"..... it was cute. But they didn't explain the story to him, although they did ask him if he'd heard about it and he said no. they said, "Then we won't explain as it will put a damper on your day."

TC, TC, did you listen just now??? I tuned in JUST IN TIME...I nearly missed Ben, and I would have completely missed him if it weren't for your earlier post in which you explained the time difference (I'm in Ohio). OK, I'm about to get all teenie on you guys: Ben was SO CUTE, and his morning voice was SEX ON A STICK!!! AND Michael Cudlitz was on the line, too...They were adorable together, they have such a great relationship!!! I was excited to hear Michael on the line because John Cooper is actually my favorite character on the show. The two of those guys together...I was in heaven!!!

I liked hearing about how Ben and Amy had the same teacher, but I missed some of the earlier stuff because I was caught off guard by how quickly they got Ben on the line. It was so sweet how Ben offered to talk to Amy off the air about their mutual friends...What a nice guy!

OK, warning, I'm going into teenie mode again: EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was great, and such a boost for another day of job hunting (I have the one sales job, but I need a second job to pay the rest of my bills)!!! Whooohoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

One question about the Bobby Bones show. I would like to hear it one more time, since I missed some of the early conversation because I was in my Ben-Michael induced haze of joy. I can't tell from the website if they offer podcasts like Ryan Seacrest's radio show does. Do any of you know if Bobby Bones offers this type of thing? Thanks!

The interview sounded like fun, and that is so cool that he had Michael with him. It seems like they are becoming really good friends.

ETA: OMG, I've just read Michael's latest Twitter updates! OK, so they are doing radio interviews right now - and Michael's apparently doing them naked. LOL.

No prob. about mentioning the time difference. Only reason I knew is because I have a really close friend who lives in Fort Worth, TX and he calls me every weekend (or I call him) and his time is an hour ahead of mine.

As far as the podcast, I have no idea. I also would like to hear it again.
