Johnny Got His Gun (Joe Bonham) The body of war. The heart of a man.

Johnny Got His Gun

The story of a young American soldier hit by an artillery shell on the last day of the First World War. The film takes place in the mind of a quadruple amputee who has also lost his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Regaining consciousness, 20 year-old Joe Bonham slowly discovers that while his brain is healthy and able to reason, the rest of his body is irreparably shattered, leaving him forever trapped within the confines of his own imagination. He struggles valiantly to find some way to communicate with the outside world. Tapping his head in Morse code he breaks through and pleads with his caretakers to be put on display as a living example of the cost of war.

Info from IMDB

"The film will have a limited distribution this fall to coincide with the upcoming general election. It is anticipated that the movie will screen at art house cinemas in selected major cities. The release dates & cities will be posted on this website as they become available. It is also anticipated that the DVD version of the film will be available before the end of year".

Aww thanks

I didn’t read it either, I heard it was an amazing book, I'm guessing it's going to be very dark and hard to read, but it sounds interesting.

I can't wait to see Ben in this role, I feel like he can do a lot with it, it’s a very dramatic part and not an easy one for an actor to take on, I'm very proud of Ben for taking it.

Me either. I think he does angst very well and it's like you can feel the character's pain. Like when he confronted Volchok in the Thanksgiving episode. I got all teary-eyed because the way Ben did Ryan's emotions for it.

I know exactly what you mean. Ben does angst really well. I tend to like more angsty-dramatic movies/shows than comedies. I don’t know why, I think it feel more like real acting to me.

The movie is going to be all about Ben's character Johnny, there are hardly any other characters so it's going to be interesting.

I like a mix of both, but comedies seem to be so cheesy or just plain gross in today's movies.

I hope he does a lot of promoting for it

I never like comedies.

I don’t know if he'll do a lot of promotion for it, it's a really small indie movie.

Do you think they'll release it in time for the US election?

He did promotion for Junebug though and wasn't it considered an Indie movie? I didn't realize it was considered Indie. That means it'll probably won't make it to a movie theather around me.

It's hard to say when they will release it, I just hope it's soon.
