Yeah, I didn't want to post anything either, but I was glad that no_detective and others were calm and rational to tweet back. This is what I like about this fandom. I don't know if you were an OC fan, but the OC fandom was kind of crazy, there were a lot of really young posters there and it was hard to have a serious discussion. This fandom is so much more mature.

But I've only liked Ben since SL, so there. I was never into The OC, but I can vividly imagine how it was back then *shudders*.

Though during summer I did watch season 4 and really liked what Ben was doing there - besides... hot! I've also tried to watch s3 but then was quickly reminded why I never clicked with that show.

Yes, I've also discovered that channel, God bless your giving soul

But seriously, despite "M," you should watch season 1 of the OC. Season 3 wasn't good (No OC fan really likes season 3 that much). But Season 1 was amazing. HOWEVER, out of Season 3, you SHOULD watch Anger Management. Ben had some great acting in that ep... its well worth it! The first ep of Season 3 was great too. I always cry when he waves goodbye to his bro and cries on Sandy's shoulders. The second to last ep is great too. I love it when Ryan fights and broods.

And yes, Ryan was HOTTTTTTT in Season 4!!!!

And ohhhh.... I miss my Cooperman.

I have to say, the MB-factor was quite a big one for me and I hated mostly the endless to and fro-ing between Ryan and Marissa. It was... *endless*! And on top of that, there was so much about the show that didn't resonate with me. It was just too soapy, the people too beautiful and the weather too splendid. No, scratch the weather-thing

.

I think I didn't click with Ben before SL because he still looked too young for my taste. Little did I know about s4 then

. S4 was just so much fun and he was awesome with Taylor. I really, really enjoyed that pairing.

But I did make it through the whole s3 and you're right, tc_mahfood there are definitely some very nice eps with Ben. It just took me longer to get through that season. There was just so much pouting and fast-talking, I guess I'm too old for that

.
But I really liked Ryan with that dark-haired girl, the cousin of that surfer-dude who died in that accident. Sorry, I'm terrible with names. But alas, they couldn't stay together.

Yeah, I think we all are. It's actually kind of exciting to find someone that like Ben for something other than The OC.

I will always like Ben's character on The OC but there's no doubt in my mind that Southland is the better show and that Ben had the chance to really show his acting talent in it. I also adore the Ben/Coop interaction, I really hope the show will make it somehow; I will really miss those two.

I agree that Southland is the better show, but the OC will always be my FAVORITE show, and as much as I love Ben Sherman and the Cooperman combo, I will always probably love Ryan Atwood more.

I mainly watch for the Cooper/Ben-interaction, I think they're wonderful together. It's lovely to watch them grow and change their dynamics throughout the episodes. Michael and Ben are doing a fantastic job. And they really seem to be getting along in rl, too. I think they share a lot of the same values and work ethics.

You guys must've been so exited when you heard Ben would be in another show so soon

Completely agree with all that, Michal. I loved Ryan, but Sherman had/has so much more potential. Plus, overall, I like more of the Southland characters and actors. The whole thing is just of a much higher standard - the acting, the writing, the production, etc.

ITA, Southland is totally on another level than the OC. And with John Wells it seems we have a producer who fights for his show. I hope we get our Cooperman back soon!
