I still sort of think the younger M&S agents, Miller and Einstein were some kind of weird mirage! Seriously what was the point.

I guess the real mirage was the 3 Lone Gunmen though, sadly.

I think CC wanted to set up a spin-off with them personally, he has talked a lot about all the possibilities he sees for the franchise, and obviously he knows that David and especially Gillian are never going to want to return full time for a long run each year, so maybe he was hoping that season 10 could lead to a kind of reboot with two younger agents? The fact that he got rid of them so unceremoniously in the season 11 premiere suggests to me that he had that idea, and then gave up on it after the audience response to them was so negative

Such a waste of time when we only had six episodes with Mulder and Scully working together, to then spend so much time instead on Miller and Einstein working with Mulder and Scully separately in Babylon and the finale

Didn't CC vehemently claim that he did NOT try to establish Miller & Einstein as a new M&S? I am really confused....because it really felt like he did Like he didn't learn anything from S9. Sigh.

It definitely felt like that’s what they were there for, who really knows though other than CC

I suspect he tried to make them the next versions in case of a spin off but then denied to save face when people complained

I’d rather have had Doggett and Reyes be the spin off partners than those two, especially Einstein.

Yeah Miller was really bland, and Einstein was just annoying, although it always made me laugh when people would say something like ‘thank you, Agent Einstein’, or ‘good point, Agent Einstein’, cause everytime it sounded like they were being sarcastic

that was a bad surname choice, for sure!

Yeah it’s kind of weird how Miller had no personality, yet even though Mulder kinda looks like him and would speak in monotone, he seemed to always have an interesting character, unlike Miller.

He didn’t have any of David’s charisma and onscreen presence unfortunately

It’s kind of funny cause even though Mulder doesn’t give facial expressions much and speaks in a calm and monotone way a lot, he still has charisma. Somehow DD proves he’s a talented actor by being able to do something with that!

Definitely one of my favourite episodes of the entire series And it was just great to catch up with Mulder and Scully again, makes me very nostalgic that the audience gets to follow them at all these different stages of their lives
