I just feel so weak, and so sick. It's supposed to snow overnight, and only go up to 18 degrees tomorrow. May be Friday before I can get out to the grocery store, if then.

That sucks Theresa. I'm surprised the support teacher can just ditch and never come back and they don't have a sub support call in person!! You need time to have bathroom breaks and lunch times and prep times don't you??? Plus they are special needs kids.

We did try the glasses when he was doing his maths homework, and he likes wearing them, which is a good start. We'll have to get him to read with them on later, and see if it works.

Its hard because I have to sit with the kids at lunch and I also have lunch duty so I couldn't even have five minutes to myself to get a hot drink or anything and other people just go and have a break whenver, it must be nice to be able to do that.

Those glasses sound good Claire, one of my students has a orange overlay we use when I need him to read.

Thanks Theresa. I tried lots of colours and it was interesting how some colours helped more than others. All help is welcome, though. I'd love him to gain more confidence with reading.

Yes he is. We've done lots of things to help him so far. It would be great for him to get some real confidence in his own ability, though.

I always struggle with numbers! As a kid and now!! I always wondered if there was such a thing as a math dyslexic or something!

Yeah there is, it's not just struggling with maths though it's more that they find it overwhelming, and the processing of numbers gives them anxiety.

You could be one, Leanne. There are a few related conditions like that. My friend's son is dyspraxic, which means he finds it hard to learn to do physical things, but he also struggles with spellings and handwriting. I read once these things overlap a bit.

Yes, Theresa, my son understands maths very well, but makes simple mistakes, and I'm sure it's all related.

No we have others but the others have no TV signal. I'd watch Netflix on my tablet but it's on charge and I was here on my laptop anyway. I got them to change it to The X-Files instead!
