I spent most of my Saturday out of town since our soundcheck for the concert was pretty early. Then some birthday celebrations today involving lots of cake ...
You?

Really need to get ready for bed. Almost midnight

Too bad you can’t have a cat, Mark they are such good companions.

Claire, I’m glad you have had a good weekend, sounds lovely with friends and good food, I’m happy for you! Do you have your class and library time this week?

Kia, at falling asleep typing mid sentence! I don’t think I’ve ever done that. Closest thing was taking too much of a drowsy drug and then typing here while on the verge of falling asleep in a slow weird state sounds like you had a good time with parties and cake

I can’t believe I only have two months left of work already!

I can't believe that either, Leanne! Our weekend continues today, we're planning to go out later....

Yes I have my class and the library this week.

I'm glad you're our new mod on here, Mark. I'm sure Leanne is very happy to have a co-mod again.
People will remember how something made them feel at the time they watched it, and then will always see it that way I guess. You'll have the same thing in years to come with Game of Thrones no doubt, and new viewers will see it as old hat! Actually I rewatched some of season one of GoT and had forgotten just how much talking there is in that show!

You clearly needed the rest, Kia!

I’m glad to be here! I missed being on the mod team and being a mod for this board makes it even better! I have a health problem so I might not be able to post every day but with two mods it’s a lot easier!

I’m staying at a motel the next few days for a college seminar and for the first time in awhile I got a ground floor room I’m thinking about asking to switch It’s a family with two kids so it sounds like I’m living underneath a marching band

I hope everyone has a good as Monday as they can!

Claire, I hope you're having fun today. It sounds like a fabulous weekend.

Kia, sounds like you had a really good Saturday, and can't ever go wrong with cake.

Leanne, you know I've fallen asleep that way. Your work year does seem to have gone by fast.

Mark, congrats! And Leanne yay for having a co-mod again. I am glad you applied Mark, and got it.

So, they've kicked us out of the building-they are spraying for bed bugs. I'm disgusted. Black mold, cockroaches, and now bed bugs.

Wha?? Kim, so where did you put all you displaced residents? Wow, that's alot of problems not close to appropriate for assisted living!

I am happy to have a co-mod again! It does make it easier on the posting!

Good luck with that, Mark!! I live under kids every day and I think I've finally gotten used to their stomping and it does sound like elephants!! Good luck with your event there!

Hope you have a good last day of your long weekend, Claire!

Thanks Leanne! I’m going to ask to switch rooms but the manager is a ... so I’m waiting for the night clerk hahaha. There has to be 5 people staying in that room, too.

Thanks Kim! I’m glad I applied too, I missed being a mod! I don’t think I would ever solo mod tbh

Have a good rest of the day everyone!

Yuck, Kim! Bed bugs are incredibly hard to get rid of. I believe all the bedding has to be burned, mattresses too, and a deep clean of all the rooms in the building. Nasty things too, can cause a lot of problems.

We visited an iron age hill fort today. It was a nice walk in the woods.

I hope you enjoy your stay, Mark.

Thanks Leanne, I hope you're having a good day.

I don't even know what I'd do if I got bed bugs!

Good day, peeps!!

That sounds like a very cool visit, Claire! I loved going to the Hampton Court Palace and seeing the opulant and then the servant's kitchen and areas. Fascinating history to be able to walk through these things!!

I think I found a new place to live for a year length or so. I just have to fill out the application after work today and hopefully I'll get approved cause its one of the only places that doesn't look depressing and like I'm on welfare just cause rents are so high here for the most miniscule places. This place is just built, brand new, and allows cats, has a dishwasher and laundry so that's good, (oh, and an actual kitchen! ) plus the walls are white and has a big main window so it would feel bright and natural light. It also includes free cable and internet for the first year too!

Well there wasn't much there, just some earthworks, really.

That sounds like a great place, Leanne! Are your parents selling the house you're in?

I looked it up, about the bed bugs. They are resistant to a lot of insecticides, and if you miss even one they multiply so fast they are back again soon. You have to get specialist exterminators in and clear out every crevice they might be hiding. Horrible things!

Well, its very small, but bright, and new, so its good. Lots of plus-es! Yeah, I explained more about why I'm moving in the Anxiety thread. Eventually, soon or in a few years, the house will be sold.

I haven't gotten it yet, tomorrow I'll go to the office and see if I can get it

The only downside is no air conditioning... and it faces the evening sun so I hope I can keep my cat cool enough during heat waves.

Today is a good work day! My co-worker is not here and no replacement showed up so they aren't doing any classes in here. So I'm working alone, doing books, and watching "Stepford Wives" (the original) on the computer I said I'd do book exchanges so I'll see if anyone does come in, but I'm doubting it.

So a peaceful work day!

Bed bugs sound like a real nightmare!!!

Hey

Sorry, I'm MIA a bit lately. The finals have started and my days are filled with looooong papers to mark Will be like that for a few weeks. Just an explanation so you won't wonder where I am.

Mark on co-modding the board Great!
This board is really such a lovely place. It always feels like coming home. I loved modding here. Only lovely people I hope you have an awesome time being a mod here

Kim, that is so disgusting! I start itching all over!!!
I really want you in a better place... is there any chance of you moving somewhere else with less crazy people and bed bugs any time soon?

Claire, that sounds alwesome! You always do such nice things with your family. I'm still looking for ideas to give a 4-year-old for her birthday. I try to avoid giving her more things since she already gets so much all the time. Looking for fun things to do together.
Any ideas?

Leanne, that place sounds great I still haven't found anything yet... maybe I'm too picky?

I’m excited cause today after work is the meeting so after 5 pm, I’ll know if I have a nice place to move to. I haven’t moved since 2008, so it’s kind of cool to think of new surroundings!

I spent last night ruthlessly getting rid of books and plastic DVD covers, putting my DVD’S into wallets that save space!

I hope your busy work marking goes ok, Kia!

I'm glad you're excited about moving, Leanne. It will be nice to have your own place, and be able to cook again.

I suppose it depends on the child. Most four years olds will like going to a soft play area, swimming, or a trampolining place maybe? I suggest you look around online to see what is in your area. Going to a zoo or farm would be good too.

I got to see the musical yesterday! It was really good. I don't always like musicals but I really liked this one.

It's so noisy here at the moment during the day! The house next to us has builders in and the last two days they've ripped out all the trees and bushes out of the garden. The chipper is so loud, though!

Oh that sounds exhausting! I hope they are done with their work soon!

We went to a huge indoor playground as her Christmas present. That was a big hit. I'm not sure about swimming since I would probably offer to take her and a friend and that seems like an awful lot of responsibility. Two kids who can't swim properly yet and a disabled women. Recipe for desaster
Trampoline sounds cool... and the farm too. I will look into that. Thanks!

And thanks Leanne! Tell us how the meeting goes
