I had a scam phonecall earlier from an Indian call centre, claiming it was from Microsoft, and she understood that I was the main user of the computer (not giving any detail about type of computer or operating system etc.). I was immediately suspicious because I'm sure Microsoft is based in the States, plus the lack of information, and as my husband pointed out later: how would they have my phone number? So I asked, 'What's my name?'. They hung up on me! Of course there's no way they could answer that question, and if they tried to, I'd point out to them if they were who they said they were, they'd know that information! Anyway that amused me!

I'm not well for work I came thinking I felt fine, but I'm going downhill fast. I literally feel like

I'm going to try to hang on til lunch and then leave an hour and a half early. Co-worker really wants me to do book exchanges in the next hour!! So lightheaded!

Claire!!! You get those calls alot and its funny how you just through their spiel and then ask a question they can't answer cause youre too smart for them to trick you

I got a recorded sounding call recently and when it got to "you've been selected to win $500" I hung up.

Oh and co-worker gave me this vitamin C drink to help me but its gross, Kinda gelatinous.

I won't know if the treatment helps before the second or third repetition.
It is an infusion with an anti-inflammatory painkiller that also helps make the tissue basic (as opposed to acidic). I'm optimistic

And The Hunt never mentions the word vampire but you realize quickly that the protagonist lives in a kind of vampire society. He shaves every day, he tries to avoid sports since the others don't smell and he does since he sweats, he has fake fangs, he avoids facial expressions and eye contact because if the others find out he is a "heper" (human) he will be dead within seconds.
Quite spooky.

They're not too hard to spot, Kia. They're usually going on about some sort of problem which needs sorting out, and are always trying to lead you into paying some sum of money to put it right. They will not know who you are in general, and if you question their validity, they will try to get back on script to the scare tactics they've been taught to say to you, rather than address that. I understand if you talk to them long enough (I haven't) they will give you a number to ring them back, but because they haven't put the phone down their end you're just talking to them again. I think it is easy to spot as the legit companies will not phone you to scare you into paying them money.

The drive is usually 15/25 minutes, depending on traffic. It's not too far, but the town is fairly slow to drive through in general.

That sounds ominous! Best of luck with that, Kia!

It's an annoying drive. It costs a lot of money to park too. I could take the bus or the train, if driving gets too annoying. Unfortunately I'd have to change trains though and walk a long way if I use the train. It's not much different price-wise, but driving is so much more convenient as I can get there and back so much more easily, than either of the other options.

I just discovered that there are old threads here with quite a few pics of me. Curious how I feel more paranoid about it now than a few years back.

I was an angel in the one I shared. Also, a pic of me "stimming" against a wall when I was 2. Its one of the rare pics where I actually kinda look like an autistic kid. Cause my cousins are all smiling and staring at my mom who was taking the picture, I'm against the wall with my fists up doing my stim and looking at nothing in particular, I'm in my head. Not even noticing my mom taking the pic.
