Morning everyone! Thanks for the new thread.

It's a bit of rainy morning here, but should clear up later. I'm washing all the stuff they brought back from the weekend, and we're going to go see the new Mission Impossible film this afternoon. Should be a fun day. I must get my son doing his homework this morning too.

Kim, with dyslexics they tend to learn in steps, so you can be doing the same thing for a long time with seemingly no progress, and suddenly they will have got it. The only way he will learn spelliings is by repetition until he's learnt it. Leanne, my problem with the school was because they were all so focused on getting the kids to learn spellings for government tests, a list of prescribed words, they didn't spend the time with him trying to get the basic short words with him. He's never going to get longer harder words without the foundation of those smaller words. Plus there's all those words which sound the same, like 'for', 'fore', and 'four', which are spelt differently.

I'm sorry your brother is back on chemo, Kim. That must be miserable for him.

You've been busy on The X-Files, Leanne? That's very good!

Hi Claire! that sounds fun to go to a movie! It's going to supposedly be rainy here too for the next two days! You guys seem to do lots of fun family things together!

I'd rather live in the same house with your family above me than what I'm living with. This time, there was a big fight again and some supposed hitting. Such drama. I had to take rescue remedy and try to calm my own body down from the physical stress I got just having to listen

I watched the 2nd ep of Castle Rock. I like watching a new show while waiting for the network shows to air next month, usually the last week of the month!

Yeah today, was busy here, lots of posts plus me adding links, editing, and new threads to open, old ones to close!

Hey guys Rainy and wet here today. I'm quite poorly, so I'm happy to stay in and rest.

Last week Jon and I were in Budapest for our anniversary holiday. It was amazing! It was about 34 degrees C every day so it was so so hot, but we had a fantastic time. I have one more week and then I am back at work

Hope everyone else is well, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother Kim.

I'm glad you had such a good holiday, Theresa. I loved seeing your photos.

We enjoyed the movie, the special effects were really good, it was fun seeing Ethan Hunt running around London.

Yes your living situation does sounds stressful, Leanne.

I'm so tired. Eyes are burning and everything is very achy...
Okay, done complaining!

Theresa, Budapest sounds awesome! Do you have a pic for us?

Leanne, sorry you have so much drama in your own home!

Kim, sorry about the chemo

Claire, hope the film is good!

ETA thanks for the new thread

Hello ladies!

Last night after bed, I was actually looking up what's to rent that allows pets that's a price I could try to afford. But I know the best option for me is to just ignore their lives and sty where I am cause it's best financially for me with my pet too and for my rent I get a lot of space.

So I slept in late obviously cause I was up most of the night

Claire, was it a Tom Cruise movie?

Welcome back, Theresa, it sounds like fun and enjoyable despite the heat. City exploration vacations are fun! Yeah looks like we are back to work next week already

Aww, Kia, take it easy, I hope you have a day off today or tomorrow if you're still part time!

It's gonna be supposedly rainy today so I'm gonna try to make myself feel cozy, but will go get my cat some food later.

It seems wise to look out for somewhere else to live, Leanne.

Yes it was a Tom Cruise one.

I really need to do the dishes, but I'm relaxing right now.

Poor you, Kia. I hope you can rest now.

Well, since I slept so much this afternoon I really have to work now But I am making good progress

Leanne, I would probably do the same It's good to always have options and know you don't have to stay if you don't want to.

Claire, yes, relax The dishes can wait

Yeah, but financially, the best decision is for me to stay here. I have my own private space that is bigger than other places for the low rent I pay here and I can have my cat. I just don't like my upstairs neighbors and wish they would relocate to a co-op or a manufactured home of their own or something. Living here is how I can afford things I buy or trips I take so I have to do the scale of how important is this over that!

I'm hungry, anyone got any good good at their place to share with me? it's lunch time here!

I'm sure that is true, Leanne. But it's a good idea to keep your options open just in case.

We have a load of snack food left over from my family's trip last weekend!

I'm glad you're making progress, Kia.

I've got to get back into my normal routine again, I didn't wake up until 7.45am this morning.

Claire, I'm glad you guys liked the movie, and that you got laundry going before it. Thanks for explaining about your son. Also, you are so right-the different ways to spell words that sound the same, too, makes it so hard. You are doing the best, having him in tutoring. Like I've said before, you're a great mom.

Theresa I'm glad you had so much fun. Also, happy late anniversary, from me.

Kia, oh no. I'm sorry work has been so hard on you. It's good you took a nap, and I hope you're having an easier time getting work done now.

Leanne, it will be worth it, if you don't have to live with stress, to have a smaller place. How did you sleep? Come have lunch with me.

I just got up. Woke up several times this morning, just thought "Eh, I don't have to be up, and I'm really comfortable", so I stayed in bed. I need to make a list of things to do in the mornings, so I get up. I've got to be up Friday morning though. Got my hair appointment rescheduled. Last night I got most of my shopping list done. This will be the last time I'll get my hair done till next year.

Yeah but I can't move yet or I'll be really really tight on my funds to just live. Plus I have more better options if my cat is passed away first before looking. I saw not bad small places that covered utilities and cable and internet but it's always "no pets!" at those nicer suites.

I wish sometimes I had a life partner to live with and have a double income. It just seems like it would be a better life than this for me.

Yum, snacks! I'm craving this delicious deli sandwich from this little grocery store close to Pet Smart so I'll have some soup I bought last night and then when I go for pet food, I'll stop by and get that sandwich, it's whole grain or sourdough bread with chicken, sprouts, tomatoes and mustard, cucumbers, it's so cool and crunchy.

As I type this, another argument and fight... sometimes I wonder how I can leave the house without encountering them in full fight. I just like to lay low and get ignored.

That's what I meant, Claire, it's good to have options. Even if you decide against them.

I'm having routine problems as well, Claire
And I think I just made it worse My long afternoon nap means I am not tired now that I should go to bed

And I have food, Leanne, not sure you would like it though since I am still eating weird stuff I have pea-pasta (so paste made of peas) with mushrooms and coconut milk

ETA didn't see the posts on page 2

Kim, it's nice to have a comfy morning

Leanne, yes, double income would make things a whole lot easier A lot of things would be a lot easier with a partner. I just really suck at relationships

Just remember-if you had a life partner, cost of living would be twice as much, so it would put you in the same situation. Too bad you can't use the $1600 you just got, or the money back for the Hawaii trip.

I'm glad you're getting yourself a sandwich. You'll enjoy that. And, kitty will be happy to have more food.

It was like that with both sets of my parents-never knowing when it would get physical, constant arguing, not wanting to be dragged into it. After a while you learn to just walk through, and keep moving. I understand that anxiety.

ETA-Kia, JINX! It would be nice not having to get up, if it weren't 99% of the time.

I am sending you sleepy, sleepy, energy.

I did t get to sleep til after 4 am but I woke up just before 11 am so I guess I’m somewhat balanced out! I’m about to have some rice noodle soup, then some coffee, then I’ll go out.

I think what these kids need is going back to school. They need time away from each other and with friends and teachers and routines during the day and my SIL can do her stuff while they are gone for 6 hours. Maybe it will be somewhat better then! They just seem to get on each other’s nerves and they live all one one floor that isn’t that huge!

pea pasta? Usually I’m willing to try different foods. Doesn’t sound like that goes together, Kia!

True, Kim, but also would be nice to know if I lost my job there would be a back up while I figure things out too.

My cat is a great life partner but he doesn’t make any moolah
