Awesome that WyldIce got some crazy girls kicked out of the theatre! I could never do that because I'm to meek but I applaud anyone who does that.

I'm usually the same, but they were really pissing me off and besides, some people just deserve a good and I have to say, it felt good

You are not the only one I hear that from and I'm actually really glad that people think that. Even though I didn't fully enjoy it I'm still protective and want the movie to be liked. May sound weird, but I can be strange that way.

^ I get what you mean, like protecting a younger sibling for example, you like to wind them up but you don't want other people putting them down

I don't think I could say which one I liked more... they're so different... it's like comparing apples to pears.
I love them both... and I could love a third one just as much... hear that Chris?

Well, not sure how the chances are for that.. The numbers didn't sound so well and if that's what they use to decide about a third movie..
On the other hand, as far as I know they had a very low budget, so I don't know. Maybe in the end they do get enough out of it to justify a third one.

And I agree KIA, you absolutely cannot compare the two. But what I loved about the first one (in hindsight) was that it really felt like having the X-Files on the big screen. The new movie feels like something totally different, just accidently having Mulder and Scully in it.
Maybe I need to find another viewpoint to appreciate it more and not try to fit it into the box I have build for it over the past 10 years.

I think it was quite an x-file, but this struggle over whether or not they should be part of it felt weird since they always jumped right in... well, some occasional complaining
And there was nothing familiar apart from Mulder and Scully. The first movie was more connected to the series since they were both still with the FBI, we knew most of the other characters that showed up, we knew many of the basic settings like Mulder's apartment, the fbi building etc...

This new movie as ALL new which was kinda forseeable and still hard to process.
Only Mulder and Scully were our "touchstones" which is why it also had to focus on them so much...
So it really was a whole different thing...and rather un-x-filish in many respects.

I found it hard to expect anything at all with all the insecurities concerning the plot, so it's very easy for me to only see the good sides, but I can totally understand if you feel it should have been a bit different.

FTF never felt like a true mythology X-File to me. It was all a big explosion with hardly any susbstance, while on the show it was all substance with the mythology (only speaking of pre-S6 episodes here). I agree with you that IWTB was nothing compared to some of the greater MOTW, but I think it had substance. Although it ultimately failed for a lot of the audience (including me until I really started thinking about it this morning) it was trying to raise a moral question to the audience. IDK, I think with IWTB we could really analyze it and with FTF all the talk is about the near kiss and that's really the only interesting thing about it.

That's what I love about IWTB... everytime I think I discovered a layer there's a new one behind that...
It's been three days and I still think about it. Suddenly a scene or a dialogue pops into my head... It's like my brain is still trying to process all the information
I think I could watch it again and again and still discover something new

I've very hopeful that after the next few releases it will do better. As they never revealed any details about the plot, I'm hoping word of mouth will help to promote it.
