Well we have done it before, and we like to have Christmas at home. My parents like to stay here too. No one brings food. I wouldn't expect anyone to do that. My parents do give us some money for food expenses, though, and my parents-in-law have bought a few items for us.

When will you buy anything then, Leanne? If you don't go at weekends or get things online?

I was about to order a coat for my husband but the cost of postage to get it before Christmas was £44! The item only cost about £7! So I cancelled that order.
Well, I just watched National Lampoon’s Christmas so I’m hoping with all the family over, your Christmas holiday won’t go like the movie’s Christmas Eve I was in the mood to see that movie tonight and not wait for it on TV, closer to the holiday.

I can buy stuff after work cause a lot of my work days end early enough to shop as well as the weekend!

I went and got pho. It was all I basically ate today and it was just a medium bowl!

Well, yeah that doesn’t make sense, paying more for the shipping than the item, that’s ridiculous wise decision not to waste your money!

Over here, I didn’t see any snowing happen outside I guess there is overnight tonight but it’s not forecast for the next week! Wonder how the snow is going for Kim!

I assume it all goes wrong in that movie, then! My parents tend to arrive fairly late on Christmas Eve so I don't expect anything to happen that day!

Oh ok. Have you got any ideas on what to buy? I unusually had lots of ideas this year.

It sounds like your appetite is still not too good.

He might have liked it, but he wouldn't have agreed it was worth it at that price! It made me wonder where it was being sent from!

Yes I hope Kim is okay.

Hey guys!
I'm having a lot of people over for Christmas too.
I tend to agree, Claire, it makes things more stressful, but for me it also means I get to sleep in my own bed and have all my stuff around in case there is an inflammation crisis with the nerves so advantages as well

As far as presents are concerned: I still need to get things for my godchildren (is that the plural? Sounds weird) and their siblings. But they are getting experiences and not things so there is not a whole lot to prepare

My Christmas tree is up as is some other decoration
I love Christmas trees!

ETA why are we chasing ghosts?

Godchildren works for me! I have a godson but I don't buy him presents anymore. I don't see his family anymore.

It sounds sensible to have it at your place then, Kia. I think keeping things simple makes it less stressful, but my husband has big plans this year! He insists on doing it himself, as he knows I get stressed out, though.

We haven't decorated yet. I have received a few Christmas cards, though.

So, here I am, at least for now. They got our power back on this morning, and our internet about an hour ago, and then the phones. It is truly terrifying to wake up in the middle of the night, to darkness, cold, and no way to communicate with anyone. At any rate, they must have been amazingly prepared.

Power is blinking a bit tonight-the lines are re-freezing. So, I'm happy.

Claire, that shipping is insane! on getting some Christmas cards. I'm happy to hear that your gift ideas came more easily this year. How long will your parents stay?

Leanne, I hope your shopping goes well. Another movie I don't like. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad you got something to eat, that you love. Thanks for the new thread.

Kia, great point about having your own bed to sleep in. on getting your tree, and some decorations up. It's why I love having my Christmas string lights up all year, on my desk.

It feels so good being able to talk to you guys, rather than just myself.

My appetite is strange. Yesterday I only ate a medium bowl split for lunch and dinner. But I felt good. Today, I ate just a bit of potato soup and then felt sick. Yet, I still went to visit family and managed two baked chicken tacos. Now I’m home, digesting and tired.

Kia, we are chasing ghosts cause that’s what Mulder dragged Scully to do on Christmas Eve

Well, that’s good both you and Claire can actually stay in your own homes for festivities and not have to go somewhere else for it.

Claire I don’t know what to buy or who I’m buying for I know what I’m doing for Christmas Eve, but not on Christmas Day!

Kim! glad you managed to be able to hop online for a bit and update us. I’m sorry it’s so there! I saw newstories about it there! I guess if it gets worse and boring you can read about Edward!

I just noticed the title. I couldn't figure out what Kia was talking about.

I'm glad you got some more food eaten.

What are you doing Christmas eve?

OMG I forgot to tell you that when I was reading in the waiting room for PT, and when he got thrown off the train I almost bawled.

[sp]Really angry they had to throw in about the dog getting kicked, though. That was not necessary, and added nothing to the story. That was too manipulative. They should have stuck with what they had going-it was sad enough. I almost quit reading it because of that.[/b]

It's actually not really cold here, now-34, so above freezing, and that's good.

I slept a lot today. I guess because of disrupted sleep last night.

I tried to sleep a lot this morning and last night but didn’t work out! So now I’m already feeling tired again doesn’t help that it gets dark out by 4 pm!

Christmas Eve, I’m going across the street to my aunt’s where family and cousins and their kids come and we have a program and do bells and fish for presents we get for each other! Like fishing for them with a stick then we have goodies.

Yeah, I hated the part where he got kicked off the train cause of how suddenly he lost his friends he has for years and not saying goodbye. he is learning how to feel and care. I think they had the dog kicked cause it showed that Edward was finally caring a lot about someone other than himself. But I didn’t like it either, poor Lucy. What a jerk train guy.

Are you still cold?

I think the power is getting ready to go out...

Ooh, that sounds like a fun night.

Yeah, I'm not buying that. They were showing at each stop on his journey that he was caring more, and learning to love, it was manipulative of the writer. I'm also getting annoyed with the lesson that you need to be hurt/feel loss, to learn how to love. But, they may change that part later the story.

No, I've been hot all day. I spent too much time wrapped up-even had my gloves on this morning, with my pjs.

It's still on. It just starts dimming, then coming back on, but that's what happened when it went out yesterday, so I was letting you know, just in case.

I don't want you to think I am not liking the book-because I really do. I just hate having my heart broken, when I don't know what's coming.

Even when I saw Titanic, I waited until I knew what happened, before I would see it.

Yeah, it’s a good message story in the end.

I don’t like spoilers so I watch and read things blind!

I’m watching a Netflix movie horror called The Terrifier. About a demented sadistic killer clown that’s actually creepy. It’s really gory and violent though! I’m waiting til the Simpsons comes on cause it sounds like a Christmas theme episode.

I don't read spoilers of even my favorite shows now, so I get surprised by those. I recorded The Flash tonight, then Arrow tomorrow night, then Supergirl on Weds. It's a crossover event. I only watch Supergirl usually.

By the way, I've forgotten, a few times tonight, to tell you how much I like your avie.

It’s a crossover of three shows? That sounds complicated, but kind of funny cause I know all those three shows are filmed locally here!

Thanks, your icon is cute too! Frosty!

I hope the kids go to sleep soon, they keep jump landing on the floor above me and sounds like the floor will cave in! No reason to be jumping like that at this hour, they should be calming down to go to beds really!
