Welcome to the X-Files Hall of Fame thread

A thread where we choose who deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for contributing to the greatness of the X-Files. From recurring actors to guest stars, writers to directors etc.

Every member could contribute who they think deserves to be inducted and then one or two are chosen each round. And those nominated cannot then be nominated in the next round, that way we won't be talking about the same people over and over.

Rules

- Each member can nominate either 1 or 2 people per round. For each nomination a little should be said about why you think they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame

- After a ceratin time (unsure exactly how long just now) nominations will be closed and we will vote for the 2 individuals who will be inducted

yes, i agree. it's exciting. the first round is absolutely hard. i myself can't choose one or two between those three!

Oh no you've got it wrong. Those 3 are not the nominees for this round, they are the first people in the Hall of Fame. They are so obvious that I thought they should just go right in

Mark Snow for Contributing to the Excellence of the Show

Would the X-Files have been just as effective as it was without the music of Mark Snow? I'm not sure, it's certainly hard to picture the show without his music accompanying it. Whether it be to ratchet up the tension as Mulder and Scully search a dark room for some freaky creature or to provide a melancholy backdrop to a sad moment his music just went so perfectly with so many scenes. Not to mention the opening titles music, still in my opinion the best theme tune for any show ever

William B. Davis for Great Achievements as a Recurring Character

All great heroes need great villains. And in CSM William B. Davis created someone more than capable of going head to head with Mulder and Scully. His fantastic performance helped create one of the most iconic villains in recent television history. Not bad for someone who was only brought in for one episode in a non-speaking part.

As you'll see I tried to come up with some fancy titles for them to make it sound like an Oscar nomination or something.

I nominate Kim Manners for Oustanding Writing and Directing. Nothing short of amazing can be said for his witty and amusing writing and directing. His work is among some of my favorite episodes in the history of the show, as well as other people's I'm sure. He not only deserves this nomination, but the win.

He directed some absolute classics - Humbug, War of the Coprophages, Home, Lonard Betts, Dreamland, Monday etc
