| X-Files Discussion - Do you think they should have.... Ok I think it would be fun for us to have a different topic ever now and then to keep interest going Question #1 Do you think that the writers of the show should have had Mulder and Scully get romanticlly involved in the early seasons? Why or Why not? *Please respect everyone's opinions. But feel free to debate them __________________ "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" - NEW MOON NOVEMBER 20, 2009 Kristen Stewart Heaven EDWARD♥BELLA || ♥JACOB BLACK♥ || DRACO♥HERMIONE | |||

| As much as I hate anticipating anything (I want it NOW!!!), I don't think M/S should have gotten together in the earlier seasons. That wasn't the point of the show. The whole plot was that this guy--the loose cannon of the FBI and the nutcase that lived in the basement--was on a quest to find out what happened to his sister, and the woman assigned to bring him down became his only friend. They loved each other, yes, but the Truth was more important that anything else. And besides, the "will they/won't they" UST is fun! __________________ | |||

| We all hoped it would happen, but when it did, the idea kinda sputtered. It was fun watching them interact and the sometimes there romantic tension. | |||

The writers/producers took a risk by putting the MSR a tad in the background, but in the end,it all worked out very well.We could never see that again, now it's all about showing everything that can be shown... The fact their love was really tied to their quest made the MSR very special and unique. So basically,no,they shouldn't have had Mulder&Scully get romantically involved in the earlier seasons, though,it was obvious they were "together" from the day Scully chose to believe in Mulder, that is to say, from the pilot. __________________ Sookie: No matter how furious I got with Eric, I was happier when I was with him. | |||

| I agree with you all. I think it was right of them not to let Mulder & Scully get romanticly involved. I liked their sexual tension around each other. It made it that much better when they worked together, everything each said could bounce with the other. They were so different in so many ways, but then again they ended up being the same. __________________ "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" - NEW MOON NOVEMBER 20, 2009 Kristen Stewart Heaven EDWARD♥BELLA || ♥JACOB BLACK♥ || DRACO♥HERMIONE | |||

| Yeah, what was great about them (besides the wanting of it to happen) was that it was never the focus. They were two great characters that were written so well that you didn't need that cliched storyline of them actually getting romantically involved. Until the end of the series of coarse when they seemed to run out of ideas [ 02-09-2004: Message edited Kelly_mvpics ] __________________ -Kelly | |||

| Excatly, unlike so many other shows a 'relationship' was the focus, but with the xfiles it was so much more about the actually cases and the mulder/scully fighting about what the 'truth' is. __________________ "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" - NEW MOON NOVEMBER 20, 2009 Kristen Stewart Heaven EDWARD♥BELLA || ♥JACOB BLACK♥ || DRACO♥HERMIONE | |||

| I don't know about everyone else, but whenever I watch a show and want a couple to get together and then they finally get together, I just lose interest. I think it was good that they held off the relationship until the end. It makes it more worthwhile. Also, if you wait until the end to put the two together, you don't have to go through the whole process of what their relationship is now. The audience just has the satisfaction of knowing that they end up together and can create the rest of the story for themselves. So, to sum it all up, I'm glad that the writers did not make Mulder and Scully develop a romantic relationship early in the seasons. __________________ http://www.bigcrumbs.com/crumbs/land...nchan2&s=59146 Shop through Big Crumbs for your online purchases to receive some of your money back. | |||
