It’s the middle of summer! Pools, road trips and beating the heat!

I slept well despite the heat, my husband slept in the garden. It was 28C in my bedroom last night.

It's supposed to be very hot today. I have a number of chores to get done as well as pack my stuff. I feel a little sick from the stress of it though.

I just saw Ebony jump up a tree in the garden, she didn't stay long as the magpies nest in that tree, and they are really shouting at her!

We just get call scams and so I'm naturally hesitant when someone claiming to be government and asks me personal questions without saying anything about why first makes me not trust. I ended up getting a real person who said there wasn't any concern about my application so I sent in my second report.

Awww, Claire I hope the sick feeling eases up and you get your check list done. Do you drop off Ebony today? Do you or anyone in your traveling group get car sick? Haha, Ebony is in trouble... from the magpies! (My first cat was a scaredy cat who got frightened when a crow cawed!)

I went swimming tonight and ended up falling off the ladder into the pool in front of everyone in the household got a taste of chlorine and had to wash my hair! Plus I injured my left foot a bit cause it got caught on the stair step and snagged my pinky toe so it bled. Now I can't go in the pool til it safely heals somewhat plus I can't put a bandage on my little toe cause of the smallness and shape so I am wearing a sock on my left foot in bed since I don't want to risk bleeding on my all white bedsheets bed!

FF is still trying to keep me kicked out. I got on fine yesterday early morning (when I was here), then it kept saying "Try again" on my computer, so rather than continue getting more frustrated, I gave up.

Thanks for the new thread, Leanne. It was smart not to give out your information. I'm glad you got it straightened out. Sorry you got hurt in your pool. \

Claire, do you think your nerves will calm down once on the road? Will you have A/C where you will be staying? That might be a good break from the heat, if so. Poor Ebony.

My last day with my class on Tuesday and with my team was actually pretty hard for me. This year was crazy and completely stressful but I will actually miss my class, and my team I grew very close to.

Yes Leanne, I drop Ebony off this afternoon. None of the four of us get car sick, I don't know about my brother-in-law's family. I was glad she got scared off!

I wouldn't worry about the cut, though. The chlorine in the pool will probably disinfect the cut, so nothing to worry about.

Claire its about 27 here. We went to the pub after work on Tuesday and we actually had a little bit of rain. It was quite random!

The last few days my brother and my sister in law came to visit so I spent a few days with them. It was great Baby's due very soon (aug 20th) so my sister in law is pretty uncomfortable because of the heat and all so I tried to help her cool down, fetched her fans and cool drinks

Your poor sister-in-law! There was a heat wave one year that I was pregnant and I coped by having cold baths!

I thought it may be a bit cooler for you. That sounds bearable.

I have to pick in my washing and take my cat to the cattery this afternoon.

It made me laugh, one of the days she sat in front of two fans in a vest and her undies and I fetched her ice packs I cant imagine how hard it is for her, worse still being pregnant!

Yeah I know London is about 33 where my brother and sister in law live I do wonder if Budapest will be cooler.

I was surprised to see on the BBC news website a list of places which are cooler, including Miami!

I just got back after dropping off Ebony. It was so hot in the cattery! I was glad she was in a pen though, they did say she'd have to go in the garage, after the holiday times mix up.

She hates being in her box though. She meows the entire time.

You feel hot when pregnant at the best of times.

Yes I'm on holiday from tomorrow. I'm going to the Netherlands.

We're away over a week, and she gets distressed if we're away that long.
