This makes me feel old, of course I still have to see the middle story, not just the M&S shippy bookend scenes

Indeed
Do you remember which episode it was that they had to play a married couple? __________________

Is it the only time they had to do a role play undercover job? I mean, if so, than what an only role play, married of all things

Hmm I think so? Most of the time they just popped up with fbi badges from what I remember, that episode having them play at being a married couple was kind of really obvious fan-service for the shippers tbh, but well I’m not complaining at all
I remember reading that they weren’t really happy with how the episode turned out because of the monster being kind of goofy, and they were expecting everyone to rip the episode apart online, so they were so pleasantly surprised when it was considered a classic episode instead and everyone was just raving about how much they loved it __________________

the writers used to read and even participate in fan forums devoted to X-Files in the early days. (Grr, I didn’t get the internet til after the earliest days, if I did i would have been around that stuff! I didn’t get home internet til 1997, but remember searching X-Files online in 1995 once) I even heard they had a list of names in an episode with names of fans from the fan internet club or something
The married idea was fun so it didn’t matter if the monster was goofy, it was Mulder and Scully pretending to be married even though there is no way anyone should have believed their names were Rob and Laura Petrie. __________________

I wasn’t really around on the Internet back then either, I didn’t start going online until 2000 And by then I was mostly about the Buffy message boards quite honestly X-Files wasn’t such a big thing for me back then after season 6
And yeah the comedy was just so funny that it really carried the episode, even though I guess that as behind the scenes people they were more concerned with if the production looked good and if the monster was realistic __________________

I think it looked like a sparkly garbage bag but it was fairly vicious
Wow, 2000 for the internet almost feels like how it is now except there is social media and YouTube now! I totally missed the whole Buffy show! I think DD and GA had a lot of fun doing “Arcadia”. __________________

Buffy did replace my X-Files obsession for a while there, but I still always loved The X-Files as well __________________
