That ad is exactly why there was no way I could have avoided the X-Files when it was on. As a mystery and horror movie fan for years, if I saw that ad for Darkness Falls, I would have been soooo interested.
best thing of tv at that time, I’m pretty sure cause it also felt a bit cinematic in its filming. Can’t beleive it was way back in 1994 though __________________

I was just a young kind when it first started airing but I remember watching beside my part
Darkness Falls was my favorite first episode so it’s special to me __________________

I remember being so creeped out when the older guy got trapped and cacooned in his truck although he was mocking them so he kinda asked for it

Yeah, what a horrible kind of death, the people in that episode went through. No wonder even Scully flat out panicked, and they both barely made it, since the episode ended with them fairly weak and fragile in recovery! They had to be rescued from death that one time.

 especially since it was the first season and even the writers didn’t know how much future the show had__________________

Gillian Anderson herself was afraid she’d be replaced! And I heard rumours that “Phoebe” was brought in “Fire” to potentially be a replacement. But the next episode was “Beyond the Sea” so of course, GA stayed
she was just new to everything and had insecurity but also, getting pregnant so soon after being hired must have also created that concern.__________________

I think that maybe the network were the ones who wanted to replace her because of her pregnancy? But of course it all worked out in the end as it led to such a terrific arc with Scully’s abduction.
