I love how he proves he's territorial by grabbing her necklace to get her attention. That move is hella territorial lol. And then she looks down like, "did he really just grab my necklace?" Yes, Scully, he did and you loved it.

Scully has talked Mulder down from a ledge on more times than I can remember. He sometimes becomes so obsessed with his theories that they make him jaded and blind to reality.

So in the original script for Squeeze, Mulder does not play with Scully's chain. It is Scully who is twirling the chain to reflect her stress levels. And the conversation and set up plays out differently. If you look closely, Mulder has the chocolate bar in his hand.
