I just realized that the whole devine conception possibility opens up Jesus parallels...Dana as Maria
And Mulder is Joseph Well, we also had some more than obvious allusions in the birth scene... guiding light and three wise men So after all, to hell with science, aliens and conspiracies. God decided to send another son... OMG... or the same son, which would also imply resurrection, apocalypse, judgement day... So maybe aliens could be the horsemen of the Apocalypse... __________________

But among the MOTW episodes I liked Scary Monsters, And there was this really digusting episode in which Reyes gets into trouble, but I don't remember the ep. I am going to go look it up ETA : 4-D that's the episode. Lord of The Flies, was the most stupid one I have seen Last edited by neel luvs tony; 11-24-2007 at 07:31 AM |

X-Files Discussion - Your Memories of Watching "The Truth"
How did everyone celebrate/commemorate/deal with/mourn etc the final ever episoe of the X-Files; "The Truth", when it aired.
Who did you watch it with and where did you watch it? Did you have an X-Files party? What were your feelings/emotions about it in the lead-up to the episode and after it was over? I can still very clearly remember watching it. I watched it through in the living room with my mum and I just remember what a massive deal it was. After all these years it was over. I remember that the last season seemed to absolutely fly by and I was just dreading it being all over. One moment it seemed we were just watching the first episode and then the next thing I knew we'd just finished watching Sunshine Days and their was only 1 episode left. I remember not really getting into the episode that much first time round. I was just waiting to see how it would all work out, glancing up at the clock to see how much time was left before the X-Files was finished. And then afterwards I just remember feeling rather sad as if you have just lost an old friend or something And yes I know it sounds rather sad that a show meant so much to me but there you go. __________________

I wasn't sad at all when I watched it. I was so excited. I wanted to know what they had finally come up with.
I remember watching some really bad quality rip. I couldn't see anything half the time, but had I waited for it to air in Germany it would have been another year and I was so obsessed with finding out. I watched several scenes countless times just to make sure I had seen and heard everything as far as it was possible... almost like with an alien-autopsy tape I could barely sit still. I watched the whole episode and re-watched it again right away I felt like I had to absorb every last bit, every tiny detail, because it was the last I would see of the X-Files. I was sad afterwards. Somehow I always knew that there would be another movie or another something, that it wouldn't be the last I see of Mulder and Scully, but it sure felt like the end of a decade Quote:

I remember I stopped watching it somewhere near the end of season 6, although I recognised some of the season 7 shows. Stopped watching it mainly because I had turned 18 and was going out a lot at night and so kind of lost touch with it. It wasn't till I'd heard about the new movie that I bought all the dvd sets and watched it from the start. I accidently read a spoiler that gave away the end, but I still quite enjoyed the episode. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was pretty much in the court room for the whole episode, but I guess that was kinda the point of it. I guess I felt they were trying to tie it up in a nice little package for the end. It was only last year that I watched it and I had salty popcorn (with butter!) and beer for it. I watched it on my own as I have drifted apart from the friend who was also really into it. But after watching it I was kinda like 'aw, no more' but then there was the movie to look forward to and it got me all nostalgic for the series. __________________

I was home alone so I had the big screen to myself (usually I'd have to watch the show on my 20 inch TV), made popcorn and sat in front of the TV.
Watching it I was a bit confused cause I hadn't watched too many of the myth eps after the first movie. I was completely about the magnetite/SS/aliens in the FBI thing so I didn't really care that the mythology ended unresolved. But also at that time I hadn't yet seen Jump the Shark so Mulder seeing TLG and realizing that they had died made tear up a bit . Afterward I felt a bit of like so...that's it and pretty much let my X-Files fangirl self stay dormant until a few years later when I caught an early season ep on TV that I'd never seen before and started recording all the reruns and eventually bought the season DVDs. __________________

I remember watching the series finale with my husband. I was very sad that year because my two favorite shows- The X-Files and Felicity- were both ending, within weeks of each other. I remember thinking "what the heck am I going to watch now."
Anyway, I don't remember liking the episode that much the first time around. I just didn't buy Mulder being on trial like that. However, that being said, I remember nearly screaming my head off when Mulder kissed Scully in the jail. I was so ecstatic to see such a passionate kiss between them and to see them acknowledge how they felt about each other in front of someone else (Skinner). I adored how Mulder held her hand next to his heart, too. I was sad, though, that Scully didn't really explain why she gave William up and I felt let down by how little they actually talked about it. The ending scene was, and still is to this day, one of favorite XF scenes ever. I just felt it all came full circle back to the Pilot- them sitting in a hotel room together talking about intense, life changing stuff. I thought the parting shot of them on the bed in each other's arms was the perfect ending to the show. It made me tear up a bit, and still does, just thinking about it. Wow, what great memories. Thanks for starting this topic, John. __________________
