I don't agree with the way they think the show has dated except for the maybe the visual effects.

I was a bit confused by some of the arguments as well, from my understanding they were filming in widescreen and using film grade quality, hence why it was much easier to upgrade to HD than say Buffy was. I wouldn’t say that it looks dated in that respect at all
I didn’t think the effect are that bad either, they used a pic of the bug from Folie à Deux as an example of poor CGI, but that episode totally still holds up today with how Kim Manners directed it and kept glimpses of the bug just out of sight __________________

The only ways it looks dated really are stuff like the old computers and phones And even there I feel like the size of their cellphones being that ridiculous gets exaggerated a little bit, I remember The Lone Gunman episode making a point of Mulder having a ridiculously huge phone because it was set in the 80’s lol, but during the series itself their phones were mostly not all that clunky and obvious imo. The old desktop computers and Scully’s original laptop from the pilot stand out to me more there
