Sci-Fi Anagrams (Enertainment Weekly)

Hey guys, no long time no see!

Anyhoo, I was surfing the web and came across an Entertainment Weekly quiz from about a year ago that gauged how much of a sci-fi geek you are. I must say that according to the quiz, I am quite the sci-fi geek, but I already knew that. Anyhoo, I thought I'd post it here since it has a slight X-Files mention. And I also want to see how everyone else ranks in terms of sci-fi nerdiness

Quote:
1. You're undoubtedly a Dorkus Maximus if you have ever substituted terms like ''frak'' (Battlestar Galactica) and ''frell'' (Farscape) for actual down-to-earth curse words. Your intergalactic potty mouth should be immediately rinsed out with soap, or at the very least rinsed out with something manly like...I don't know. What do manly people drink, Jack Daniel's?

2. While we're discussing beverages, if you have ever put food coloring into your drinks to make them look like the funky space cocktails served at Quark's bar, then you are most definitely drunk on dorkiness. Actually, come to think of it, if you even know what the hell Quark's bar is, you qualify.

3. If you have ever at any point in your life donned Spock ears, proceed immediately to the end of this column. No further testing is required.

4. Do you enjoy mercilessly mocking Jar Jar Binks, yet sometimes catch yourself humming the melody from the Ewoks' celebratory jingle, ''Yub Yub''? It may be time to take a long, hard look in the mirror...after you remove your oversize Wicket W. Warrick costume, that is.

5. Speaking of which, if you have ever carried on a conversation that contained the phrase ''midi-chlorians,'' then the Force (of geekdom) is strong with you, my friend.

6. I pray for your soul if you have found yourself in the awkward position of mounting a defense for The Arrival (featuring a goatee-rocking Charlie Sheen) with an argument that goes something along the lines of ''Seriously, it's not that bad. See, the global-warming thing is not our fault after all. It's the aliens, man! The aliens!'' (Not that I ever did that or anything.)

7. Enjoy penning fan fiction? Go take a seat next to the Vulcan-ear posse.

8. Are you able to decipher each of the following acronyms: TNG, HRG, ESB, BSG, TARDIS, and — this one's a toughie — CSM? Congrats, you're one of us.

1. I have said 'frell' once or twice, mainly around my nephew so he doesn't hear me use the word 'hell' as a curse word *shrug*

2. I have never added food coloring to my drinks to make them look more like 'funky space cocktails', but I do know what Quark's Bar is and where it is located. I won't give away the answer for everyone else...just think extremely large-eared beings.

3. I have never worn Spock ears, but I did don a Yoda costume one year for Halloween...does that quailfy?

4. And who hasn't mocked Jar Jar Binks? And yes, I have hummed the little Ewoks tune. Usually after watching Return of the Jedi.

5. No, I've never used the phrase "midi-chlorians" in conversation, but I know what it means.

6. I blame EVERYTHING on the aliens

7. Ummm...yes, I am guilty of writing fan fiction but not just for sci-fi.

7. And yes, I can decipher every single acronym. All the answers are below in black text so they are harder to see unless you highlight them. That way hopefully people will try try figuring them out for themselves before actually looking at the answers.

ANSWERS BELOW:

TNG -- obviously The Next Generation as in Star Trek: The Next Generation. You know Picard, Data, Ryker, Worf, yada yada yada.

HRG -- as in Horn-Rimmed Glasses aka Mr. Bennett from the TV show Heroes.

ESB -- umm...The Empire Strikes Back, duh?

BSG -- Battlestar Galactica, another TV show

TARDIS -- as in Time and Relativity Dimensions in Space. It was the name of the time travel capsule in the show Dr. Who.

CSM -- Why would they consider this a toughie? Any X-Phile knows that it stands for our beloved Cigarette-Smoking Man

Well, I guess I can call myself a sci-fi geek When my students say to me "Yes mam, but I'm your padawan"... I guess it's clear
