I saw a clip of her on a talk show talking about what she eats, and it sounds like she went on a pretty strict diet a few years into The X-Files to get that slim Hollywood look

Oh no, I’m not a fan of that but I can understand the pressure to be thin in Hollywood. I mean, don’t get me wrong she looks good but compared to the earlier seasons it’s a dramatic weight loss. And in S9 you can tell she definitely filled out compared to the previous seasons.

And she’s talked about feeling quite frumpy and plain in the early years of the show sadly, sounds like it didn’t help either how so many articles emphasised that the network had originally wanted a tall leggy blonde to play Scully, so I’m sure that partly played into her wanting to slim down to the Hollywood ideal and be seen as more glamorous
