Hallo Claire, nice to meet you

And yes, it’s the same with me. I’m also more confident now then I had been in my childhood. Of course that’s better, but I had a very good childhood and I sometimes wish that freedom and carefree behavior back. Being an adult can be very tough, all this responsibilities and duties…

But I honestly think that it is very brave to change life completely (for example, to start a new profession).
Many people are afraid of change. But perhaps this is also a question of mentality. A friend of mine, she is an American, but lives in Germany, always wonders about the Germans. They are generally very in need of safety and don’t like great risks. This cannot be generalized, of course but it is also not inappropriate.

People here in the UK are quite often scared to take risks too. Personally I find taking risks very stressful. Changing profession is a good example.

The day to day of being an adult doesn't worry me most of the time, though. I'm fine with keeping up with bills, chores and so on. Well most of the time!

I'm glad you had a good childhood. I was quite free-range when I was a kid, always out and doing stuff, but I wasn't happy and carefree. My worst depressions were as a child/adolescent, so being an adult has been far nicer for me.

I just got my flu shot and the form says it's a good idea to wait 15 minutes before leaving so I'm doing that since I have a 45 minute commute home, don't want to find out I'm allergic to it in the car!

I think I was more confident as a child for sure. When you become a teen, you become more aware of how others are behaving toward and around yourself.

It's really stormy for the next while and I have no idea where my umbrella is and my jacket today has no hood! Ack!

Today was crazy at work, I'm hoping I can get two newly opened job locations and be able to leave these ones I'm currently at, hoping the other locations are less crazy!

Autumn weather has finally arrived!

Being diabetic, I always have to get the flu shot. I hate the waiting around part after, but would rather be safe than sorry.

Mine hurts, a lot, every other year. I know, it's probably just coincidence, but it's happened year after year.

I didn't used to have problems taking big risks, but now, I just can't make myself do it. My anxiety is much higher now than when I was in my 20's. Especially with work-it was the ONLY place I was ever sure of myself, and felt completely capable.

Fall weather is here, right now at least, too. It was in the 40's last night, and only in the 50's today.

Sorry I missed everyone yesterday-one of those days.

Ok, its frustrating but it seems even if I get the flu shot, I seem to get something bad like the flu once a year at least. This last time, I got the shot, and got very sick last May. I wasn't gonna skip this one tho cause I don't want to get sick during my trip.

It was kind of scary to drive to work this morning cause it was literally stormy... like high winds, lots of rain and I was driving on roads with lots of trees blowing and debris on the roads! I'm just glad no power has gone out where I am! Especially here, where I'm working with no windows!

Can't wait for lunch! Im having leftover homemade corn and potato soup from last night and it was delicious and after being so here, still wearing a jacket, it will be nice to have warm soup.

Kim, just because!!!

I don't envy you that car journey, Leanne. I hate driving in bad weather conditions.

A couple of years ago we had a very bad storm here, close to Christmas, I was out with friends and my kids to the theatre, and we stayed for a meal there, too. We left in the car to come home, and it was gale-force winds, dark, and the roads were flooding really badly. I came up to a blind corner, where the road was badly flooded on the other side, and the oncoming car didn't slow down, and sprayed a huge sheet of water over my car. The wipers were on but I could not see anything, and I was very aware of the corner in front of me, steering blind and braking. We were very lucky - I ended up on the wrong side of the road, but fortunately for us the oncoming vehicle was a distance away and had stopped. I was so scared!

I'm sorry you've lost so much of your self-confidence, Kim. I hope things improve with time.

Leanne Thank you. I need all the hugs I can get today. Though, it is definitely a better day today.

Driving in storms is REALLY scary. We used to have sudden, pop up, severe thunderstorms every afternoon in the Summer in Va Beach. Lots of lightening. I'd rather drive in any kind of weather than the lightening.

Glad you got to work safely Leanne, and Claire I'm glad you guys got home safely that day.

Thanks Claire.

Guys, I'm so tired....too much traveling. Well, at least the weather is nice in NYC today.

I'll try. Beers and Burgers should help.

Stewie, you having a real vacation or a work trip? Two different things, I'm sure NYC is nice to visit though. If you have time to see anything!

That sounds scary for sure, Claire! It's scary to not be able to see out of the windshield, driving blind. My driving phobia is driving on snow or icy roads and whiteout conditions. I live in an area with hills everywhere so it's up and down and scary with snow.

I can't believe I haven't seen any tv horror movie marathons yet! Oh well, at least there are no Christmas commercials airing yet. I actually think in Canada, it's law to not air Christmas commercials or play Christmas commercials til November... so I'm expecting to see my first Christmas commercial on Nov. 1st! I'll let me you know if I'm right in my suspicions

Work trip. California on Monday, and now NYC until Friday. Then back home.
