I don't think it was, and it's one of the few episodes in season 7 that I can rewatch numerous times.

Season 7 was the worst season of the show. Bringing Doggett in really freshened it up and breathed new life into it.

Had David Duchovny been willing to stay on board, I think the show could have easily continued past Season 9 for at least another season.

I haven't seen all of S7 yet, but I enjoyed the movie subplot of Hollywood AD. The main plot was boring, IMO.

I really believe it would've gone on longer....even if David was in more in season 9.

I couldn't help but agree. If he had not chosen to leave in s7 it wouldn't have had the back lash when they brought Doggett in. So many people got bent out of shape that he was taking Mulders spot and hated it. I remember the uproar it was bad. He did finally win people over, but after 6 solid seasons of Mulder and Scully it is hard to just accept anything else.

I can understand that, when I first saw season 8, I was a little uncertain with Doggett - and I knew Mulder was coming back

Oh that new DD show sounds really interesting. Very excited! Should be quite cool to see the 60s period detail and hopefully a soundtrack infused with lots of classic 60s tunes

How about this for a new direction for DD?

David Duchovny eager to record music - Starpulse.com

Quote:
Actor David Duchovny is eager to start recording music after taking up guitar lessons in 2012.

The X-Files star formed a band with two friends and he is hoping to head into the studio next month (May14).

He says, "I play every Sunday night with my (buddies)... I kind of teach myself (the guitar) and they teach me. I've been writing music. Maybe next month we'll record."

The actor is also keen to show off his vocal skills on the album.

He continues, "I'm trying to sing better. I write my own songs so I get to sing them."

Anyone here watch Californication (Have I already asked this once before?)? I've been watching them somewhat out of order over the past couple of months at least online. I have to say I like it. It's crass, but never loses its heart.

That's a change if David were to try that out.

I have not seen the show but have always heard good things about it.
