I was so happy to discover a forum where I could discuss the "X-Files" during the 2016
mini-series event. I remember watching the show since it premiered and have specific
memories of me and my siblings gathering around the set, ready to get spooked by the
next case to be investigated by Agents Mulder and Scully. And although I loved the original
monsters and alien conspiracies, what kept us hooked for years was the chemistry
between the two main stars of the show. The chemistry never left, even 23 years later!
Seeing David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return to these beloved characters was a real
and welcome nostalgia rush for me! This show is special, with a wonderful relationship that
grows between Mulder and Scully, and great episodes written by people who still bring us
great television today. The creatures that were encountered are still unforgettable to me!

The X-Files forum and it's fellow fans are a fun group with a sense of humour who love
the show and the characters, who will analyze and discuss every little thing with me, and
anticipate further news. We have great Survivor games too!

Thanks to Melanie, our X-Files mod, in keeping our corner/basement running smoothly,
and everyone who loves this show enough to keep the love going until Season 11 and
onward.

Although The X-Files was jam-packed with great suspenseful storylines, squirm-worthy
scenes of terror, spot-on creepy guest stars (MotW), unforgettable recurring characters,
and amazing, out-of-this-world chemistry between the leads, what did it for me (and still
does to this day) is that at the core of the show, there is a big ol’ beautiful, beating heart.
So even though this show was being advertised as one about investigating the paranormal,
what stands out to me the most is its moments of tenderness and loyalty, which created
light in a show that otherwise may have been too dark for TV.

As far as the board is concerned, it has a laid-back atmosphere with fans who genuinely
still care about discussing the show and the actors in it. These fellow X-Philes make
posting on this board fun.

And last but definitely not least, a big round of applause to our sole moderator on this
board for putting this celebration into motion and for always remaining pleasant,
understanding, and helpful. Thank you Melanie for all that you’ve done/ do to keep this
board a fun place to post in.

Such an exciting event, I mean 16 years! I wasn't around when the board first opened
sadly, because one in particular, I didn't know much about the internet yet

But boy
when I first joined

this board was one of the first I posted on frequently, it's such an
amazing show and board, I'm so proud to be apart of this fandom.

I still
recall the very first episode I saw of the X-Files "Detour" I was frightened of the woods
for quite sometime after seeing that when it first aired. So many memories of growing up
with this show, doing all I can just to own the box set dvds when I was a teen. I was
hooked. Following our two heroes, Mulder and Scully. Such a great show. With so many
other great supporting characters as well, I've rewatched, recommended, and discussed
this series and will most likely continue on doing so.

Plus, bonus is how much the posters here bring to life the board; both past and present.
How friendly they are and passionate about the characters and show, you never feel
awkward about sharing your thoughts

or fangirling like crazy over a ship

even
if you know they don't ship them, it doesn't matter cause they know you love the show
and that's what matters.

So they really make the board feel like home.

Congratulations to the boards 16 year mark, it's been fun and I look forward to more
celebrations to come!

I can't believe this board has been here 16 years! Just goes to show how fascinating the conspiracies, the creatures, the Mulder and Scully dynamic is so addicting and fascinating! I can't believe the forum started while the original show was still on and 14 yrs later, there are new episodes this year and hopefully more to see soon!
