Why Seasons 8 and 9 Did Not Happen:

Well, Mulder could have been abducted. What a great, angsty story opportunity! What a chance for Scully to shine! What a great reunion we could have seen!

But...come ON! Here's the incredibly stupid stuff we got instead:

A) Mulder had a "brain disorder?!" A freaking terminal BRAIN DISORDER? All through season 7? And we never saw a hint of it? Oh, puh-lease!

B) Scully was undergoing in-vitro fertilization? All through season 7? And we never saw a hint of it? What the...!?!?

C) Scully doesn't really look very hard for Mulder? She takes up with a new partner and goes about investigating stupid, rehashed paranormal phenomena with him? While Mulder is being TORTURED!?

D) Mulder is found dead and is apparently buried without an autopsy, which would clearly have shown some non-dead abnormalities about him. Scully is a pathologist, Chris - remember!? She does autopsies for a living. She knows what value they have. Yet she lets the love of her life go to his grave without having someone determine a cause of death, not to mention the fact that his blood is still flowing? (Oh, don't give me that non-biologically accurate nonsense about how the alien virus stops the blood from flowing. How do the cells get their oxygen, then!? Didn't they have a scientist/consultant on this show at one time?)

E) Mulder is dug up after enough months to bring Scully's eternal pregnancy to term, and his cells are OK?! No oxygen in the grave, guys! No nothing that cells - human or alien - need to survive. Not to mention the fact that if you don't turn a bed-ridden patient regularly, he'll get horrible bed sores. How could the Mulder tissues lie there for months, unmoving, in the ground, and be unaffected by... well...GRAVITY!?

F) Mulder awakes, has a few minutes of angst, and then apparently forgets about the fact that he was dead for enough months to bring Scully's eternal pregnancy to term. What about his rent? Why is his apartment still up and running? What about his bills? And, hey, while we're on this: Didn't anyone at the FBI think it was weird that Mulder came back from the dead? Why aren't any doctors studying his case?! And does the FBI just let a dead guy back in, give him a gun?

G) After all this, Mulder disappears again? By his own choice?!

H) Scully gives the baby UP FOR ADOPTION!? To keep him safe? Wait a minute... let me understand this clearly: The consortium is so all-knowing that they can recite dates and times of Mulder and Scully's "dates." They have invaded every branch of the military and government. They can find anyone, anywhere. Doubtless they had some hand in the baby's conception. But Scully just randomly calls an adoption agency, which gives the baby to some clueless couple in the west, and suddenly he is SAFE!? I think I'm going to faint, this decision is so unintelligent and impossibly unScully.

I. The series finale is a CLIP SHOW!? And worst yet, it's a clip show that doesn't make any SENSE!? Yeah, the snuzzling in the last scene was nice, but Chris, Chris, Chris! The incredible badness of the rest of the show astounds me - sends me into apoplexy!

J. Oh, and while we're dealing with the season finale: Mulder and Scully are on the run at the end of the show; they're like... outlaws. No notice of how they're going to pay their bills or feed themselves? It's not like they're qualified masons or certified electricians or something. Sheesh, bad fanfic closes things better than this. I am disgruntled, to say the least.

Oh what a great season S8 could've been. And S9 well this is what I think about S9 sometimes.

Here is everything that drove me up the wall about S8/9

1 - everything above

2 - super soldiers. WTF??? XF has covered some really daft and unbelievable things in a really believable way, but this was just daft.

3 - whenever Doggett/Harrison/Whoever said "I remember Mulder/Scully had a case like this..." it just seemed a bit... silly, like it's something I'd read in a comic book.

4 - Kersh helped Mulder escape... Kersh was 100% by the book and hated Mulder, why help him escape?

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now

Oh man, Leyla Harrison. They named the character after a fan and a pretty great MSR fanfiction writter who died but they make her into totally obsessed and anoying character .
BTW, you guys that go to the couples board may remember one of her stories. It was a parody story about the cliche's of MSR NC-17 fanfiction, which was brilliant .

You know what bucks me? From time to time Reyes is pronouncing Scullys name in a weird way lol.

Oh yes that supersoldier storyline was just crap. I mean after years of mythology arcs with oil, aliens and such stuff we had to go through that again with new creatures? They totally lost me on that.

And I can't help it, Doggett bucks me too. It's not his fault but I see him as a weak substitute for Mulder.

Almost everything Reyes is annoying to me. Doggett I like but he's too one dimensional to be the lead of the series, they should've created a more intersting character. And I think RP is a great actor and did the best with what he was given, but Doggett put me to sleep sometimes . Weirdly enough, I do like them together though. Mostly because of the eps 4-D and Audrey Pauley.


Realized that I haven't posted about the death of Krycek



One of the most cheesy/horribly shot death scenes I have ever seen. I was listening to the commentary from Kim Manners and he was praising what a great scene this was . I have also heard Nick Lea was not happy at all with how it was written or played out and I totally don't blame him. Krycek was a great character, he deserved better.

Something else I don't like about season 8 & 9 is that they changed the credits. I mean they kept the same credits for 7 years and then they just changed it? How could they!?

WTF was with the S9 credits. They even changed the theme song when it was already made of perfection.

Oh, sorry Ele, I forgot that they come back as ghosts that only Mulder can see .

I know they weren't major characters, but I really miss them (although I know nobody really dies, I have a horrible feeling that they won't be coming back)

Oh yeah, the starting sequence as well I wasn't too enamored with that.

I think this is an interesting thread too (I'm anti-negativity in the M/S thread, but here it's completely fine, and I know all that you guys pointed out in the first post makes sense ), but wasn't there a thread called "I want to believe that it didn't happened? Is this a variation, or did that thread got lost/closed? I was sure to have seen it here somewhere lately
