#2 also feels like a bit too much of a David and Gillian ab-lib to me. The forehead kiss in the aired episode was adorable, but it just wasn't very Mulder and Scully for them to be kissing on the lips at that stage

I think it was just the wrong thing to do at that moment of time. If they had been a couple it would have been okay but the forehead kiss was much more appropriate

It would have been weird too if that scene had aired and then the show never followed up on it. Something that always drove me crazy about them never referencing their almost kiss in the movie again

I have been thinking, but I'm out of original ideas... Well your sig made me think of How the ghosts stole Christmas and in combination with Easter maybe "because Mulder would dig up weird cases just to spend the holidays with her"
