Supporting Actress, Comedy
Will Win:
Doris Roberts
Should Win: Jessica Walter
To the very end, Roberts was a force of comic nature as Raymond's meddling mom. Walter, however, is overdue recognition as Arrested's outragously funny martini-swilling ice-queen matriarch.
Who did they pick for best comedy?

Yeah, that annoys me to no end. It's not a comedy!

At Tv Guide there's a video of AD's sneak peak but it was just a video of the cast laughing at flubbed lines and more laughing in general.

TV guide Video

Just scroll down to AD.

From The Futon Critic:

Quote:
Next up was FOX (households: 4.0/6, #4; adults 18-49: 2.9, #4) with the lackluster bows of "Arrested Development" (households: 3.0/5, #13; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T12) and "Kitchen Confidential" (households: 2.8/4, #T14; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T12) as well as a new "Prison Break" (households: 5.0/8, #11; adults 18-49: 3.8, #T8). Said numbers for "Arrested" and "Kitchen" were on par with the fall premiere of "North Shore" (households: 2.9/5; adults 18-49: 1.8 on 9/6/04) - last year's Monday, 8:00/7:00c time period holder. Overall, "Arrested's" numbers were literally half of its premiere from last season (households: 4.6/7; adults 18-49: 4.0 on 11/7/04) when it followed "The Simpsons" on Sunday nights.

I feel like crying. Why aren't people watching?

But it's very sad news.

I really wish i could give you an answer without insulting people, but i can't...so i won't.

But the one small thread of hope that i can hold on to is that it wasn't until Season 4 that Seinfeld gained its viewers. So there's always a small chance of Arrested Development having the same luck (a very small chance).

That's true. Not only did Seinfeld hit its creative stride in season four, it's also when it gained massive popularity.

FOX has had enough faith in AD this long, let's hope they can have enough faith to keep it on for another couple of seasons and maybe it'll have the same good fortune.

I just had to post when I read about the ratings on Futon Critic. I don't understand it one bit. Do people with ratings boxes have some aversion to Arrested Development? All I know is that everyone I know who's seen the show loves it. How is it possible that it is losing viewers?!

Yeah, Arrested Development doesn't have that many fans, but it seemed that every fan was entirely dedicated to the show and so i don't see how half of the viewers have left. But as it was said above, i guess quite a lot of people didn't realise its move to Monday night.

That's the most mind boggling thing in the problem for me...where did our fellow cornballers go....

This is beginning to take its toll on me.

I've decided that half the audience from last season must live in South Florida. When I got home and checked my TiVo, I discovered that they didn't preempt Kitchen Confidential. Only AD. And they didn't even mention that they were preempting it. The news just continued.
