Though if you really decide to take a closer look at shippers threads I think you should include the actors "friendship" threads as well.

I don't mean to start a debate in this thread of all threads, but don't try to put labels on either fandom. I know fans of all ages who enjoy each pairing.

Without being a bitch, but most of the Skater thread is around 20-25 years old. Unless you guys are around 25-30, yep... we are older. But this is not to meant criticism... whatever rocks your boat.

I think ages vary, but the fact is, Skaters and Jaters have a different sense of humor, that's obvious. So we do have to think a bit more before saying things so no one gets upset

I understand the concerns many of you have. Trust me, this is the last place we wanted to go but both of us have posted countless warnings time after time and still, no one listens to us so that is why this is such a drastic measure. I believe we discussed something along the lines of this a month and a half ago, but decided against it and hoped that it would blow over. As you all can tell, it has not and this is why we have decided to do this system. It's nothing to freak out over, just keep in mind to be respectful of others.

Again to be honest I haven't seen anything that terrible on the threads I'm visiting to grand such drastic measures. Especially since this board has anti threads where people can more or less bash the characters to their liking.
And the fact that third parts are being talked about in shippers threads seem to be more than obvious considering it's got love triangles or squares or any other geometric combinations Again from what I witnessed there was nothing that bad. I think some people tend to take things too seriously and no I'm not pointing out one specific shipper group, it goes both ways. It's only a TV show after all... Just my humble opinion

Personally I would be much more concerned about the "friendship" threads as they are actually discussing real people

I have no idea about the age thing (though I do agree about the different humor) but if you're doing any statistical study then I'm almost 27 - that should slightly up the Skaters average age here

I'm inclined to agree with Cath. There's really absolutely no reason to bring age in here, because you honestly have no idea how old we are.
I will tell you though: I am 21. Without naming names in case they don't want their age public, some of my fellow Coppies are 20, 23, 25...so I'd say its about the same age range. Besides the fact that age has NOTHING to do with maturity for some people. There is a 37 year old that owns a website that does nothing but bash characters, shippers, and actors.
So sorry Katie and Liz if this is an issue but I can't stand back and let stereotypes abound in regards to this issue and do not understand why who is older or younger even matters at all here.

~DresdenDoll~ No offense, but you might miss things in the threads considering you said you're a lurker and you aren't the one recieving the PMs on a daily basis. People have noticed problems aside from Liz and I and it has been occuring for the past two months so this is not something new, this is something we have been talking about for awhile

We are just trying to keep this board happy. We understand that everyone has different views and senses of humor which is why both of us will be consulting regarding complaints and will make the best decision possible, this is why Liz is going to watch the Hoolie thread and I will watch the Coppie thread and then we will consult if an issue arises. The only thing we are asking is no direct hits to other shipper groups and titles...it should not be this big of a deal.

And I just said we will be keeping an eye on friendship threads, but right now the two main shipper groups have garnered more complaints. No thread is exempt from this rule.

And let's not bring age into it, because that is uncalled for. I'm 20 years old and many of the JKers are 20 and above, but this should not even be an issue. I don't understand why it is being brought into this discussion.

Guys, I understand why people are upset or think this is uncalled for but really, the rules are not hard to obliged and most of them are just asking that you not be disrespectful of shipper groups, this just means not bashing posters, characters (rude name calling), and couples (making fun of sayings that the other groups have). Constructive criticism is FINE, you are allowed to discuss JK and how the affect SK, as long as it is respectful, same goes for SK affecting JK. It's a matter of expressing your opinion in a respectful manner. Believe it or not, it is possible to debate things in a respectful manner without being rude and we are asking that this be done.

I have no idea how many complaints which thread received - it's just my personal opinion that I would be more worried about real people threads than tv shows characters considering that real people can actually make things slightly less fun if they knew about some things (even sue).

Seriously don't take my post here the wrong way I'm just voicing my opinion because I was slightly taken aback when I dropped by here today and saw this huge announcement. And since I'm not the one to shut up and not comment (I know I should learn this quality some day ) I just had to say a few things I had on my mind.

I am, and I'll give you this: the "nothing but" is a little extreme since I haven't gone there at all in the past few months so I don't know if its as constant. But from what I saw a couple months back, there is TONS of it.

Hun, I was just going to edit out my lurker comment because it was low. You beat me to the punch!

I want to make something clear because I'm not sure if I did. Say Poster 1 sends me a PM with a complaint about the Copulator/Hoolie thread, just because I get a PM does not mean the thread will be issued a strike. Liz and I both have to agree that it deserves a strike and if one of us doesn't agree/both of us then the thread won't be given a strike.

i think this is a great idea, as a shipper of skate and jate, i sometimes have a hard time posting because the other couples get bashed alot..i'm mainly a lurker but i do read most of the threads and i did notice problems so i think you guys are doing the right thing..

Yeah really!!

I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath and realize that no one side is "right", ya know? We have different tastes. All ships are good/special in their own way. And in a few years, we are all going to look back at this and see how ridiculous it is haha!

hey, Im with you all the way. Actually, I have no problem with the anti-threads or the shippers thread being the drive to hell.. meaning they can bash the characters as long as they pleases too... bcuz, It is JUST A CHARACTERS. They are not real people. So, for me that's fine and I'll probably get my heart hurt... but I'll just brush it of since they are not real people.

But I do have a problem with the "friendship Thread"... just bcuz they are actually talking and discussing about the real people lives. I mean, let's be honest here.. "the Mavie threads" is the most scary threads I have ever seen. I do go there... just bcuz I like Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly as an actors and their friendship. BUT man, I can't believed these people actually fantazies these real people as a couple when they obviously know Matthew is married for 15 years and Evie is dating Dom. They wish Matthew Fox will divorce his wife for Evie. I mean really that's just insane. I feel really bad for his wife if ever they read this stuff in here (not like they ever go here). If you dont find anything wrong with that then.. it's just sad.

Let's protect the real people and not the characters they play. that's all.
