I asked my mom that same thing and she said that since she's considered "dead" to the court that it takes a long time for it to be corrected and actually take her in.

I don't know. She may have been on bail? But I don't think I'd be acting like she was if she was on trial for murder.

Great episode. Moment I loved: Jack finding out about Claire. Christian's funeral scene was awesome.

Wouldn't it have been great that instead of Kate having no one to give her a nice welcome home, she had 10 FBI officers waiting for her with guns drawn with a nice holding cell as her welcome home gift (some get pie and hugs; others get a cell and awkward showers).

I can just imagine the Oceanic mouthpiece freaking out when an FBI agent threw Kate to the ground while she was holding giant baby. Kate and Aaron in jail could have been a neat episode. Oh well Lost. Way to frak up that chance!

I seriously have no faith in Lost when it comes to criminal Kate. Her trial was a joke that can only be explained by some back room guy like Ben making the whole thing seem overtly fake and the way they handle her with kids gloves is laughable. But why I am trying to find reason on a show that has smoke monsters and four-toed statues?

I know the guy who was accompanying her on the plane died, but shouldn't have someone else been on the case and known she wasn't pregnant with conehead? Gah! No logic to Lost.

No joke. If Kate had been acquitted with the help of some higher up (something Widmore/island/Abbadon related), then it woud've been half way decent. But she gets off scotch free with 10 years probation. For murder!

Wesley Snipes got 3 years for tax fraud.

I'm still holding out that there is someone who owns Kate's ass for getting her off with just being stuck in sunny California for 10 years. But it probably won't happy because she'll be too busy running back to the island when Zombie!Psycho! Claire haunts her.

I know a guy who was caught dealing pot and is serving three years in prison. If only he would have blown someone up then crashed on some random island. He would have been free to live his life and not in jail. Pot dealers are so much worse than murderers.

I kid, but it is hilarious.

Cut Kate some slack, she was in a freakin plane crash! lol What's the worst thing she did? Besides, kill the love of her life cause he got in the middle of her escaping, and killing her moms boyfriend cause he abused her. Pfft. I think Kate is fine.

When they showed Kate, my mom was like, "Aw, she had no one waiting for her." And I was like, "Uh, yeah she does. Cuffs."

But yeah, it seems a bit ridiculous and just....not consistent.

I just realized that when Ben visited Charles Whitmore(sp?) and told him he was going to kill his daughter because he thinks Charles ordered someone to kill his daughter (Alex) I just realized that Charles daughter is Penny! Ahh lol! I think that that they can time travel forward and backwards. It's kind of weird that Desmond stayed on the ship. Maybe Charles Whitmore told Desmond to plant the explosives on the boat in order to save Penny in the future?? Which is why he wants the ship to go towards the island?

I also think that when Locke switches the button to "move the island" they have like an hour to get off the island and that's how some of the Oceanic passengers get left behind and not by choice or some kind of weight limit (Hurley consists of 3 people ahaha).

Another thing, I'm changing my guess from Michael to someone more shocking to who's in the coffin.
We find out who's in the coffin in two weeks, woohoo!

Fantastic episode. Loved all the flash forwards. Especially Jack finding out about Claire. Matthew Fox owned that scene.

Definitely agree. Jack's shocked looked gave it away about knowing her. Claries mom totally knows something weird is going on.

Did Kate hear them talking? She seemed shocked as well.
