Can I be added? He was a fantastic and brilliant character. John Locke has been a lot of things, but he was never boring and dull. Without him, everyone would have probably just gotten off the island and called it a day

If Hurley was the show's heart, Locke and his journey was it's soul. Thinking about his death still breaks my heart.

Actually after thinking about it, I somehow like the way his storyline turned out. Usually, on TV, when you're special you're, well, special. But Locke thought he was special and destined for great things, but he was used by forces he didn't understand only to be murdered and tossed aside. That makes him to an very special TV character. The story of John Locke is one of the darkest tragedies ever seen on TV.

And even after his death he influenced the storyline and other characters.

I know it served a purpose but I still hate it .. I hate seeing my Locke so desperate to believe and so broken

And yes, he was special, his SL was amazing but I still don't like how it ended.

Nobody expected that his storyline would take this dark turn. Of course it would be great if Locke’s end had been more positive. But this tragic end really makes him to a special and very compelling character.

ia. although i wanted the best for him his tragic ending made his story even more unique and realistic.

And I can understand why people say it made his SL more compelling etc. but I thought his SL was pretty damn good on it's own without having to bring more tragedy into it.
