Little bit of news what may turn out to make us all happy one more extra epsiode for LOST

Exclusive: Best. Lost. News. Ever.
Ausiello Report TV guide.com no spoilers One more extra episode ........Maybe ...

OK, I've left you hanging long enough, Ausholes. The scintillating piece of Lost prattle I've been holding over your heads since Ask Ausiello went live early this morning (i.e., the better-than-the-coffin-reveal scoop) goes a little something like this....

According to one of my 815 snitches, Team Darlton is in advanced talks with ABC to produce — wait for it, wait for it — an additional hour of Lost this season!

[The crowd roars]

Now, before you go French-kissing a total stranger out of sheer elation, my source stresses that this is by no means a done deal. In fact, the scheduling hurdles alone are enough to make a grown man cry. But you have to admit, the prospect of a 14th hour is a tantalizing one. And it raises so darn many questions. For instance:

• If the dream becomes a reality, how would it work? As it stands, Lost's Season 4 climax is slated to air on May 22 on a season-finale-themed night that also includes the cappers of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy. So would the additional Lost hour be broadcast the following Thursday? Or would it perhaps run on another night?

• What does this do to the finale that was going to air on May 22? Would elements of it be incorporated into the new finale? Would this 14th hour come before that episode? And since we were originally supposed to get 16 eppies this season before the strike cut that number back to 13, does this mean we would now be getting a season finale that is more in line with what Darlton intended? Or more exposition that they ran out of time to include? The mind boggles

Yes instead of losing 3 shows we would only miss 2 . As we know with Lost any extra hour to wrap up the season would allow Executives /writers to not squeeze what was going to happen if we had no strike. Many other network shows had to cut the total episodes of there shows.

Thanks for that, Matt.

Interesting. I had thought they had it all planned out for it to end on episode 13. Wonder if they need another episode to get what they wanted in there.

This is awesome! They had a 3 hour finale in S1 too. I'm so glad they're doing that again!

Yes it will air over two nights but last final episode won't air till after Memorial Day.

I'll take a two night three Hr finish Thus we ,the lost fans got our 14 episode !!!!!

It's official: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Steve McPherson has signed off on Lost's extraspecial 14th hour this season, which means Lost is getting a three-hour finale! The first hour airs May 15, the second and third hours will air May 29, beginning at 9 p.m. (ABC will still air the finales of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy on May 22, as expected, and Grey's will be two hours long.)

Word is there are so many big reveals the producers wanted to deliver this season that they felt anything less than a full three-hour finale would have cheated the fans. In fact, I'm hearing that the writers' draft for the second half of the finale was 80 pages long, which led all parties involved to realize these stories had to be told now. Anything else would have felt like a rip-off for the fans.
Needless to say, this news rocks. Check out the ridiculously awesome promo for Lost's all-new episode on April 24, and then post your excitement about the extra hour of season four below...

Go Lost. Being a Grey's fan I wont be missing anything when I get my 2 hr Grey's finale!

Lost and Found: Scads of Scoopy Nuggets!

Evangeline Lilly by Mario Perez/ABC, Josh Holloway by Mario Perez/ABC
"Team Darlton" (aka exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse) on Thursday afternoon treated the press to a conference call teasing Lost's April 24 return as well as the now three-hour finale. Before I dive into the full transcript, some nuggets to tide you over:

On the season finale:
"There's No Place Like Home" — which the boys just finished writing this past Monday and are now polishing/starting to shoot — kicks off Thursday, May 15 (at 10 pm/ET), and then continues with Parts 2 and 3, airing May 29, from 9 to 11.

On the fate of the Sawyer/Kate/Jack triangle:
spoiler information left out

On Jack and Juliet:
"We will be revisiting the emotional idea of [their big March 6 kiss] and their relationship in our second episode back, which airs on May 1," says Lindelof.

On buzz that Claire's days are very numbered:

"We don't really want to comment on any particular character's fate," Cuse defers. "

On Seasons 5 and 6:
Since this season delivered just 14 out of 16 planned episodes, the next two rounds will indeed get boosted to 17 episodes each.

again the rest of the information is spoiler type Again i will post the whole TV guide interview in the spoiler section !!!
