I would say the action calmed down considerably after that, lol.

I loved Sawyer's introduction. He needed no dialogue. All he had to do was light up a cigarette, lol. Oh, and watching him read his letter for the first time. The pain and vulnerability on his face. Sigh.

Sayid/Sawyer fighting, lol. Boone/Shannon arguing like an old married couple. The trek up the mountains. The polar bear! "I just shot a bear!" LMAO.

Sawyer and Kate's first scenes. The sizzling chemistry. "I've been with girls like you." "No girl's exactly like me." GAH.

Charlie/Jack/Kate trek. Monster ate the pilot. Charlie singing 'You all Everybody' and Jack having no clue what that is.

Pilot part 1 still is my fav pilot episode ever. And the best episode of LOST IMO hands down. The opening sequence feels more like a movie, not a tv show. AWESOME.

And the end of the episode with Smokey eating the pilot is just brilliant. I remember I was like

when I first watched it.

Yeah I agree with this! Well said, especially the Sawyer parts

No dialogue needed and I already knew he was my favorite male character on the show!

I hope no one gets offended but I really didn't find part 1 that great because it seemed to focus way too much on one character. I've never really been a fan of shows where it focuses on the redemptive arch of one character and on an emsemble cast such as Lost when the plot moves forward due to one character it tends to irriate me and makes me resent certain elements of the show.

You disgust me.

I mean the first part. It's so amazing, and then it just dies. It gets better near the end, and the second one is awesome with the polar bear, and the transmission..

I definitely think the second part is better than the first part.

And yea, excluding the part up to where I mentioned which is some of the best stuff i've ever seen - I still get chills - it was pretty slow paced until the second one.
