I think it's ironic. During the mini-arc and the few episodes that followed, I think the writing showed that they were toying with the idea of Jacket (like they did with Jack/Ana Lucia) but by the time they got their first kiss, it was obvious that they were going nowhere

By the time I saw TOW, I pretty much had my head wrapped around the fact that Jack was madly in love with Kate and only Kate. But even so...I don't think I could have been too bothered by that second kiss either, after seeing how concerned and caring Jack was with Kate when he found her unconcious. Awww, just thinking about it...

I liked Jack/Juliet interaction, though. I liked the Sawyer/Kate interaction too, in the first couple seasons. It was when the "friends with benefits" stuff came into it that it lost it's appeal for me. Though, I feel like something was achieved in giving Skate a chance. Sawyer learned to care about someone else more than himself, and Kate had a sort of security blanket in Sawyer that helped her become more comfortable in her own skin, intergrate herself with the other survivors, and stop thinking she wasn't good enough.

I'll redo the same **** for different scenes. The choices are ENDLESS.

It was so OUT of the blue!
They did a total recton in the finale

Their "story" was nothing like an OTP one in all the six years

the other day I wanted to put on paper all the jate quotes and the skate ones, but I gave up because there's no fair game
